I was about to post the same thing before I read this. I dont know what "medical staff" the club has but would be very surprised if the club employs doctors direct and certainly not specialist consultants. The club would surely refer players to outside consultants so if there has been a misdiagnosis JOC would sue the consultant who would have professional indemnity insurance. JOC would be the patient and although the club no doubt paid the bill the contract is between consultant and player.
Pretty sure some people in this thread think our physio is diagnosing injuries after using an MRI scanner he keeps in the little bag he runs on the pitch with...

I'd have thought there'd be a handful of "football clinics" for players in the top two divisions where injuries are diagnosed and treatments scheduled and provided. Sort of like Harley Street but based in Cheshire for footballers with ligament damage and whatnot.

As others have stated above, very much doubt anyone on staff is diagnosing things, maybe preliminary stuff with an ultrasound but after that it's not going to be on site or on the payroll for me, the moneh would definitely have gone if we've got a Sheffield United medical centre somewhere.

If someone in the club misread an ultrasound or felt something they didn't quite understand and got the ball rolling down the wrong treatment path then that could see the club in the poo poo, but I'd have thought our chosen external specialist is the one JOC is most miffed with, whoever that is.

I hope Big Jack can get back to playing football again, and back to his pre-injury level.
I scincerely hope that will be for the blades and he is able to pick up where he left off.
All the other stuff is just background crap

John Ebbrell bought for over a million quid and played half a match before coming off and eventually retiring never played again hopefully we got the insurance money but you’d have thought our medical team would have done some due diligence but shit does happen.

Got a great 45 mins out of him though if memory serves.

Positive update this week from PH.

"He's in good spirits. He's happy with how it is and where he is with it. Our message and my conversations with Jack won't change there will be no pressure on him to be back for any sort of date, we just want to work with him and give him the best support for what has been a really tough time for him.

"That won't change, we are all here for him, whether coaching staff, medical staff or his fellow team-mates. Everyone was delighted to see him pull up in his car the other day and it's good to have him back in and around the place."

"There's hope, you wouldn't put yourself through all of this stuff if it was a lost cause. It's amazing what you can put your body through and where you can get to but we have to stay positive, keep pushing him and he'll keep pushing himself.

"He's a tough lad not just physically but mentally as well - you have to be to go through a lot. It's so frustrating that you can't do the thing you love doing, but we're really positive on him getting on the grass and so is he.

"He has been there before, he was on the grass training towards the end of last season, so we know how close he got last time and that was the heart-breaking thing for him, how close he got.

"We're hoping to get there again."

I’d be so happy to see JOC kick a ball in anger at Bramall Lane again.

Heard he will be included in the 25 man squad in January, surely must mean he's closer to a return than people thought?
Not saying I don’t believe you, but, y’know…

We need to forget about JoC and get a bleeding replacement with the same attributes - this has been the case for such a long time now that the club is definitely negligent on the basis of res ipsa loquitur
Which 40 years ago when I was an articled clerk my audio typist include in a letter as "raised hips locked together"

A tough time for the lad, but he is a tough lad, so I’m hoping he can come back and play one day.
