I'm sure it would put a stop to it happening in future.Wouldn’t that be giving out inside info??! Which no one wants anymore?!

Will have to agree to disagree on that one. I just don’t see, unless the team literally got named an hour before, how all the players and staff who know don’t tell a wife, parent, mate if they’re playing or not, and from there it can be passed on with no trouble. As I said earlier (maybe another thread) the teams are common knowledge to all involved in the game
Fucking name them then.
The player(s) you’re referring to aren’t logging into their twitter or a forum to reveal the lot just for a few likes. So actually, it’s people like you who are to blame. The player(s) who leak the squad are the ones to blame. I know for a fact at least one member of the squad gives out the lineup each week.
Well if you have got any ounce of club loyalty in you why don't you drop a line to Chris with the name of said squad member on it.Yeah but I'm a pig on the wind-up because I'm a new member here (all new members are pigs on the wind-up), so I don't think the Villa management would have taken much notice of it.
It was allover the web on the morning of the match, get a grip.

Storm in a tea cup...can someone explain to me how Villa would know which one of the hundreds of posters across many different platforms is in the know and has the correct team ??? Its only apparent after the line up has been published isnt it ?
Completely missed my point mate....How would Villa know that someone saying Fleck and JOC weren't playing was ITK and those saying they were playing werent ITK?If you know in advance that you don’t have to prepare for two of our most important attacking players, I’d say that’s a pretty big advantage - and that’s what everyone was talking about.

But what is the real position about Jack's injury coz I'd sure like to know?
Why does this thread now have the “Confirmed” tag? What has been confirmed? Who has it been confirmed by?
If I’ve missed something, apologies.
It’s been confirmed that he’s injured, by Wilder, last night. Why does this thread now have the “Confirmed” tag? What has been confirmed? Who has it been confirmed by?

It was in rumour mill until the teamsheet/confirmation of his injury came through.

Could not agree more.Giving your opposition info about injuries to two of your most influential players is like a general giving his enemy his battle plans before a shot is fired. Villa knowing beforehand that the blades were without possibly there best two players could alter Villas pre match tactics and they would see it as a weak area they could exploit. The OP says 'Don't shoot the messenger', but immediately after the game Wilder responds with a fairly scornful retort that he's not pleased with supporters who leak news like this.
Will anyone learn from this, or will the manager's plea to keep quiet hit a brick wall? Clearly Wilder's not happy that news is leaked, but certain supporters seem to think they know best, regardless of what our manager says? Maybe a few out there ought to think long and hard before they indulge in this damaging type of attention seeking.
From my own experience it can be difficult to properly diagnose straight after due to swelling. It might take a couple more days before they’re sure what it is. Might just be a bit of torn cartilage or a medial ligament strain. Sounds like he collided with Hendo so it might not even be a strain. Hopefully.Saw the rumour mill and shoutbox stuff. Any detail / prognosis been made officially public?
Thanks. Missed Wilder confirmation.

Yeah If i'm Dean Smith and I know that 2/3rds of our left-sided defensive/mid line up is missing, and what's more that the defender will be covered by a premier league debut i'm definitely adjusting my tactics to target that side. Thankfully we came through it unscathed and Robinson did a good job, but vs better teams it could be very different. If you know in advance that you don’t have to prepare for two of our most important attacking players, I’d say that’s a pretty big advantage - and that’s what everyone was talking about.
Wonder who the other one is, Zivkovic or Retsos presumably
