If you are Jack Clarke you probably see your progression and therefore next move as lower-end Prem....which immediately rules us out as we will be lower end prem for a relatively short period of time....I can't see him wanting to make what would be a sideways move...

As much as Brooks is / was a phenomenal talent I don’t think his body will ever let him fulfill his full potential. Unfortunately for him he’s missed so much football over the last few years due to absolutely no fault of his own. Glandular fever and then the cunt cancer probably means he’s missed more games than he’s played in his career.

It would be a crazy way to spend a big chunk of cash imo. We need someone who’s going to play 40/50 games a season at a good standard. I just don’t see DB ever doing that.

Real shame. We need to spend what little resource we have with our heads over our hearts though.

It’s a far more sensible option than just sticking to British players. But only for clubs with professional scouting and recruitment capabilities, and we’re not one of them. Smarter clubs find them, clubs like us then have to pay a premium to sign them once they’re proven.
