That doesn't make sense though, does it?, or at least it opens up more questions than it answers.

Why wouldn't we have the biggest budget for summer, and bring in players who might have kept us from the bottom slot?, why wait until January, when we only have the slimmest chance of staying up, to spend money?

Maybe I am missing something, but it seems to be a funny way of strengthening the squad.

Because the plan was always to bring Wilder back.

It's not going to happen, but I wonder if it's some vague allocation of Archer monies if we go down.

The Archer transfer does give us that wiggle room and although I'm not a fan of losing an asset if he's performed well, it gives us protection and capacity for foward planning.

Wilder in charge and we're linked with two left wingers? World's gone mad. We'll be signing "do gooders" next.

i think the offensive players were being linked with suggests chris will be going with a back 4 next season but cant see us paying that for clarke mind what a cracking signing it would be if we pulled it off

I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility IF there is movement on the ownership front.

That's a big "IF" though........

Word of advice…..make sure you don’t do it at the same time as the guy on one of the other threads who said ‘he would bare his arse on the town hall steps’.
Or if Franks Fannies are there as well

Whilst hardly scientific there is absolutely no ‘noise’ about this up ere - well, beyond hysterical laughter followed by why?
For context:-
contracted to 2026 with an improved contract ‘on the table’
They (still) owe Tottingham £4m (4 x 500k instalments) who would also be due £3m if Slumderland get promoted &/or 30% of any future sale
