Sheffield United and Fulham are being linked with Real Murcia striker Ivan Alonso.

The powerful centre-forward is in the final 18 months of his Murcia contract and representatives from both United and Fulham attended training on Wednesday to run the rule over the player.

Celtic and Rangers are also keen on Uruguay international Alonso.

A host of clubs are believed to be checking on Real Murcia striker Ivan Alonso.

The Uruguayan striker has bagged nine goals already this season as Murcia look to land promotion back to La Liga.

Alonso, who has a Spanish passport, has been watched by a number of teams in recent months.

Spanish sources suggest Celtic, Rangers, Fulham and Sheffield United have all had Alonso watched.

The player himself has 18 months left on his current deal, and Murcia are keen to extend his deal.

However, the player is not looking to decide his future until the summer.

"I prefer to get on with my work and speak at the end of the season," said Alonso
