It’s Leicester away

I genuinely think we have a good chance of winning or as a minimum earning a replay.

The main issue for Leicester is COMPLACENCY. No doubt they’ll be really confident.

They assume that as their reserves easily beat us earlier this season in the league cup then it will be easy
But they don’t realise that we also played our reserves in that game.

Never been to the KP so chance to tick another ground off the list, I'll be going. Not the most glamorous of ties we were all after but hey it could've been West Brom or Coventry...

Leicester Tigers are at Home to Harlequins on Saturday 17th. They get around 20k and is about a mile from Leicester City so I imagine, we will play Sunday lunchtime if we're not on TV.

Not the best draw for glamour and earning a load of money, but could have been worse, we will get nearly 5000 tickets so great opportunity for everyone who wants to go to get a ticket and should be a good atmosphere against a PL side. I guess we will play a B side again with us having 2 games in the next 6 days, but gives all these players a great game to play in and fantastic opportunity to test themselves against PL players

Its a free hit for us

We go there as massive underdogs after losing 4=1 in the Cariboa cup , but with the third string

Put pressure on that MAGUIRE kid and let Stearman take care of Reg Vardy

Some really pathetic comments in here, wouldn't like to be in the trenches with a lot of you and glad our management team doesn't share the pervading small minded loser mentality. Let's take 5k there and roar the lads into the quarters. If Wigan can beat West Ham and Newport can take Spurs to a reply we can certainly beat Leicester, a team nicknamed after an animal famous for rolling in its own shit, rooting through bins and getting ripped apart by dogs.
Let's see how their pathetic little clackers and whiny little trumpet fanfare sound against 5,000 Sheffielders belting out football's greatest anthem.

I suspect they'll do enough research to realise it was our reserves. It would be very unprofessional and disrespectful of them if they didn't.

The PL clubs have money coming out of their ears, so we will certainly be comprehensively scouted before the game.

That doesn't stop a bit of complacency creeping into the backs of player's minds though. If they go out thinking it's only little old Sheffield United and they are not at 100% then great, but I think a certain H Maguire Esq will be well up for it.

Can’t see it been on a Sunday pal as we play both on the Tuesday and Friday after and that won’t be fair on us.

Sunday it is then!

Shite, plastic ground. Good to tick off the list, but it's not like you'll be in awe when you walk up to your seat.

I certainly don't feel like I'm going to be in awe, that feeling is reserved for BDTBL only :D

Yes, I don't think that's a bad draw for the Blades.

It's not against one of the tip-top PL teams, and crucially it's against a team which hasn't yet played the Blades, so complacency is a major factor.

Wednesday's draw is intriguing.

How will Carlos play?

Contrary to popular belief, he isn't a defence-minded manager, and that was part of the problem.

He's playing defensively at Swansea, because they're relatively bob compared to many PL teams, and he played that way here because he didn't think Wednesday were good enough to go up letting rip.

But in this cup tie he's up against a team he knows inside-out, and one he'll believe he can beat.

It wouldn't surprise me if he let the dog out in this one.

Didn't we play them in the League Cup earlier this season?

It's my birthday weekend also and I'm waiting to see when the game will be played!. My missus won't be impressed if I disappear on the Saturday as that's my actual birthday. I'm hoping we play on the Sunday as it'll be an expensive trip and hotel stay if it's played Friday night!!. Knowing my luck it's nailed on to be Friday night!!. Utb

Fleck is almost certain to be suspended for this game, leaving us with a midfield of Duffy, Lundstram and Basham and a defence including Heneghan!

Leicester have nothing to win or lose in the Prem and the Cup is their season so Vardy, Mahrez and Gray will be coming at our not so great squad players.

We need 3 good results before this - if we get them then we thank Leicester Tigers for the Friday night TV cash, play the kids and go for Top 6.

I wanted Coventry at home but I’m a realist. Our season probably now hangs on the next 11 days.

Magic Never Comes Easily
are all the new lads cup tied?

Leicester will definitely be up for this - the FA Cup is their only chance of silverware this season. And it will almost certainly be on Friday night. No wonder the FA Cup is dying a death - the fifth round draw stuck on the last ten minutes of The One Show FFS.

I hope we get this one out of the way without too much damage - injuries, suspensions, confidence-damaging result. It's not as if we're going to actually win the thing. The Championship is where it's at.
BBC don’t help with their crappy coverage always man utd/city versus minnow.. complete non event.. it would be much more interesting and a better spectacle if they picked less known, more evenly matched teams

Tough draw, liked the look of those 2 young Nigerian lads they had up top v Posh...Ndidi and Iheanacho I think...Gray played well again also...Who knows,we'll definately turn up...pity the new lads are cup tied though.

Whatever the results in the next three games I don't think it will be season defining. I would rather we win all three and put out a similar team to the one against Preston. That will still be stronger than the one we fielded against them in the League Cup.Leicester are seventh in the PL and going for a Europa League place so they have something still to play for. Unlikely they'll play their first eleven but whatever team they put out it will include serious pace across the park.

Lost 3-0 in th cup at Filbert street about 1978 ?

1976 apparently Chis Garland hat trick. Apologies if someone’s already posted this, couldn’t be bothered reading the thread

Ah well. Very tough, but they do tend to play their reserves in cup games. And we're much more comfortable in our own skins at this level than when they took the piss earlier in the season.

They won’t plY their reserves in this match , they’ve got fook all yo play for in the league, so they’ll be going for the cup
