I would keep him as a useful option off the bench if we are getting outrun in midfield. I think this lad is only gonna get better the more he plays
 

Interesting to see that others have interpreted this negatively.

I took it as IF he’s not getting enough minutes then he might be loaned out, but you’ve got to think that with Doyle crocked, Fleck in Jimmy mode 90% of the time, Hecky’s touchline encouragement, and the lad playing a big part in our last prep game then he will get his chance - and will only get sent back out if he ballses it up.

From what I’ve seen of him, if he sorts his positional discipline out, then we could easily be looking back at him as our best “signing” of the season come May… or whenever this weird Qatar interrupted season ends

Also, because I’ve not seen it on this thread: the sexy goal he scored in the Norwegian league

Absolutely, it could even be seen as a message to the player, earn your place by playing well, if there ends up being players in front of you, we'll look after you

I wouldn't read so much into Radic. It's most likely a comment as to what was needed at the time.

I didn't see Radic as much of a ball carrying centre back or left footed. In the end United have gone for an experienced defender from Newcastle with 36 international caps and an 18 cap Bosnian who was playing in Ligue in and cost about 3.5m.

I think if we were giving consideration to perhaps getting a younger player to replace Egan then maybe he'd come into the thinking. Right now they probably regard him as quite similar in profile to Lopata who is a Polish U21 player.

As you know I'm a fan of Sebaoui however I can also understand that Khadra perhaps is a more obvious fit, given he's already done a year in the Championship.

Where is Radic linked to? Are Beerschot going to get cash for him or is it going to be an awkward contract dispute?

I thought he looked decent in preseason, and let's face it, we've loaned in much much worse over the years.

I’d guess if he’s going to the Bundesliga he could be getting paid more than we were prepared to offer. As you say, similar profile to Lopata. If he comes in on decent money there’s a chance you get the likes of Lopata and Gordon asking for similar contracts. Maybe he was just asking for too much money.

I’ve said it before he’s not for me ….

We either need to recruit the players that will afford him the time he needs by protecting him or move on….

Unpopular I know but our midfield is/was weak

I’m not knocking him.. I think he looked great in patches but don’t think he’s quite there yet.

But yes we have loaned in worse

The problem I foresee for Coulibaly is that he's going to need at least a handful of games to get up to speed. I'm not sure we have a handful of games to offer.
 
If this kid isn’t a worldbeater I’ll never believe some members of this forum again.

It's how they write headlines these days, click bait is all it is. Personally I think it's leading to their downfall, it's short-termism, in the long run their regular readers will get sick and tired of it and will stop reading.

They've got nothing to write about mate. Hemmingway at the Examiner is clearly the media darling of the club and is given insight into internal info. The Star is about as relevant as Katie Price is to natural beauty. They have to shit stir and use click bait to keep their failing operation alive. I reckon it's got 5 years max left, then it'll be gone. I won't be shedding a tear.
 
Correct snake, its pretty clear the YE is the clubs press mouth piece leaving the Star to pick up the crumbs. Plus the Athletic has done great coverage through Richard Sutcliffe and that works out at a quid a week subscription. Kate Burlaga also works at the Athletic

The only reason the Star still exists is people like my mum still buy it as they either cant get out or cant use the internet. The obituaries is the most read.part of the paper !

I don't know if it quite extends to that but they seem to be cheerleading on 1. A bust up with Coulibaly as Hecky tries to ease him into English football and 2. A last minute Berge departure which leaves United high and dry.

Meanwhile when Windass was being allegedly courted by a team in Argentina they were mainly going with the angle that it wasn't going to happen.

Maybe they just want United to have some strife and wait for the Save Our Owls to catch up.

We have 46 league games and some cup games. No one wins promotion after 5 games. Plenty of time for him.
