If the player said “keep this to yourself” then fair enough but by the sounds of this story, Prestonblade5 has no friendship with the player.

So if the player is happy to share such information with a stranger then to me it’s fair game. The player can’t be that naive to think that information he tells to a fan won’t end up on Facebook/Twitter/forums.

If it had happened to me then I'd probably post it as it's pretty key and interesting infirmation about one of our players. However I'd be quite clear about who said it and in what setting if it wasn't said in confidence.

It's that aspect that pisses me off about such posts.

Assuming the OP is a Blade, it’s an odd thing to do. It’s hard to imagine an upside, it can surely only be disruptive and smacks a bit of attention seeking.

Blaming the player for telling him is a childish defence and assumes discretion is not an option.

It'd help if you gave an idea of who the player was to give people context, I know you mentioned not exposing said player out of the fact they confided in you or whatever, but the fact they gave you info like this in the first place kinda foregoes any kind of loyalty to them for me.
