The Inter Blades will once again be venturing off to Leeds this weekend for the annual IFA show piece, the WorldNET tournament.

Not got time to do a full report right now, but a few thankyou's to my players and then our competition results.

Would like to say a massive thanks to Ash Hurst, Ash Cowley, Liam Wasden, Lee North, Mark Ashton, Paul Kemp, Rich House, Alex Paramore, Tom Pratt, Rich Eldridge, James Bell-Taylor, Chris Beckett, Jonathan Cooper, James Kemp and Tom McCaig for a fantastic effort this weekend. Despite a disappointing end to day 1, the lads picked themselves up for the 8:00 a.m. start on day 2, and their efforts saw us all the way to the Worldnet Plate Semi-Final before unluckily losing out to Arsenal Nigeria in a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw.

Day One Results (Group 11 matches):

Day Two Results (Worldnet Plate Knockout):

Round 1: Inter Blades... 1 Ipswich... 0 (Paul Kemp)

Round 2: Inter Blades... 1 Kidderminster Harriers... 0 (Own Goal)

Quarter Final: Inter Blades... 1 Darlington... 0 (Paul Kemp)

Semi-Final: Inter Blades... 1 Arsenal Nigeria... 1 (Tom McCaig)
(IB's lose 4-3 on pens)

I’m really proud of the lads, we were down to 11 fit players for the Semi-Final for one reason or the other and had the chances to bury Arsenal Nigeria, but it just wasn't our day. Only just found this out today, but apparently Arsenal Nigeria had four former Nigerian Internationals in their squad including Taribo West (him of extravagant hair fame)!
