Good afternoon fellow Blades. Just thought I'd share my Facebook post from yesterday seeing as it's Blades related. Not sure if any of you have heard of or remember the "Inter Blades" previously, but we used to basically be the supporters team of the Blades, playing in the IFA (Internet Football Association) which has been running since 1996. We'd play other supporters teams (usually of the "real" afternoon opposition where possible) on the morning of Blades matches. We folded many years ago after most of the lads got old, had families etc. however we made a comeback of sorts this year in the IFA's end of season "WorldNet" tournament (at Cantley Park, Donny... which made it a bit easier!). There is a "Vets" tournament that run's alongside the main tournament (Over 35s but 2 under 35s maximum can be on the pitch also), so we got a lot of the old guys back together and entered the "Inter Blades Legends" into the tournament.
The main reason I'm posting on here is that we're looking to maybe play a few (local) games (probably only every couple of months due to time constraints/legs! for most) in the run up to next summers WorldNet competition. So, if you're 35+ and can still "play a bit" and fancy getting involved at some point in the future, then get in touch with me and I can keep you updated or add you to our Facebook group etc.

Great weekend spent with the Inter Blades Legends (over 35s Sheffield United supporters team) at the annual WorldNet competition. It's been a long while since we all played together (10+ years for most) but it didn't take 5 minutes for all the banter to start. As for the football, we had a slow start losing to eventual winners Hednesford Vets 3-1 in the opening group game. However, this was followed by a 4-2 win over the Barnsley All Stars and a 4-1 win over AFC Halifax Vets. That put us 2nd in the group and through to the 1/4 finals as "best second placed" team. The 1/4 final kicked of this morning against our old rivals (from much younger years
) the Internet Millers Vets. A penalty apiece in the first half, then we took the lead in the 2nd half and held it until the last kick of the game when they equalised. Sadly we bowed out, conceding a golden goal in extra time. A great couple of days though with some great lads
