Let’s see how many are unavailable for the first match before we panic. Then let’s see how many are not available by the end of September.

A keeper not playing pre season isn’t really important, I’d expect him to be able to do one training session and be good for Watford. The outfielders who are still out like Doyle are a bit of a worry though.

We had MGW last season. We don’t have anywhere near as good a player this year to replace him.

As for zero chance we will start that badly again: that remains to be seen. I hope you are right.

We won’t get an individual player of his quality but we can easily replace him by committee - Brewster back and firing, Ndiaye can drop deeper and pick up some of the creative slack, Doyle can take over from Fleck and actually contribute, players like Khadra potentially coming in will also add that creative spark

Losing MGW is not a death sentence, he himself was very inconsistent at times
 
Managers always say they like to have a full pre season with players/new signings. We've had 9 out for a while who are still unavailable, this is a big worry/problem.

Doyle is injured
Khadra doesn’t play for us

The other two might step up, yes.

It’s not a death sentence but for all this alleged inconsistency his goals and assists will be very hard to replace.

Sounds like a freak accident but thats the way some of our injuries have gone for the last 2 years.

We are going into the season once again where it will be quicker not to even bother asking Hecky for injury updates and just be surprised if someone new appears in the starting 11 on a match day.

Amissah is nowhere near ready for Championship first-team football.

Injuries are a worry & whether we like it or not they're part of what comes with Heckingbottom (google his past managerial experiences & you'll see a theme)

I think if injuries carry on at the rate they've been over the last 9 months & we fail to get off to a good start there's pressure on him. As owners its an expensive do to be paying a squad of 25-30 & only 16 of them fit for match day.
 
Foderingham back between the post tonight @ Field Mill for friendly. Good to see him back in goal with Adam Davies missing start of season with injury picked up @ Lincoln and Utd not likely to be bringing in a GK for cover while Davies out

Might take him a while to get back to prime Bogle, but he was hitting some heights before that injury. Hope he's on a long term deal because if he produces that over a full season we'll be struggling to keep hold of him.
