So Hamer out for months was bollocks then.
Who knows with Wilder. Moore was meant to be back today.
I don’t care about what the team or what the performance is like, just want the result thanks!Glad he didn't risk them and have a stronger squad to play Leeds. Hope team and performance is like the boro game
Is he a Norse god?I asked in another thread about seriki but just looking back here Wuodwr said he would be back for Leeds but ik guessing with no mention today he won't be.
It's Welsh for WilderIs he a Norse god?
You realise what a good job the current management and players conditioning team are doing with managing the current squad through a championship season. Chuck in the fact that we have had a small squad up to the end of January after the rebuild began and we were in Wilders words 'undercooked', then it shows the real balancing act Wilder has had to do. Especially when we have had to consistently over use certain players as we had no one else available at the time. Peck, Gilchrist, Hamer, O'Hare and even Tom Davies have all played more than thet should have in an ideal world. All the while we have rebuilt a squad from scratch and been consistently at the top of the league (or just off it).
I don't think it's fully appreciated by some about the issues we have had to contend with and how well we have done despite them. I think the management team and the conditioning team have collectively done a magnificent job so far on how they have managed it all this season. Compare and contrast with our previous seasons injury problems. Night and day.
We’ve certainly been walking a tightrope.
Still think we get far far far too many injuries as a whole. Some might be down to starting the season with about 12 players but it’s been consistent for the last 3/4 years than basically everyone misses extended time.
Something isn’t right with the back room and how this side is being managed physically overall imo.
Just this season the below have missed multiple games. I think it has improved from the war zone it was for the entirety of hecky’s spell here but it’s still not great.
Souza
Hamer
Davies
Blaster
Seriki
JRS
cambell
Moore
Shackleton
RND
Even Adam Davies is currently not fit
Not to mention LT injuries for blaster and souttar.
So Hamer out for months was bollocks then.
I really hope Hamer is fit but I wouldn’t trust Wilder as far as I could throw him when it comes to accurately relaying injury info.It depends if you take what Wilder says at face-value.
I'd be inclined not to on this one, based on previous form..
Tbh I just take whatever says about timelines with a pinch of salt. Injury returnees are usually a game or two after he says they’ll be involved. So back available now should be? Like CW said only Arblaster out long term.
Seriki
Shackleton
Hamer
Cannon
Moore
I mentioned elsewhere that last month I spent the day at the training complex of a leading PL club being shown the entire medical and conditioning operation. We’ve certainly been walking a tightrope.

Interesting.... What team was this?I mentioned elsewhere that last month I spent the day at the training complex of a leading PL club being shown the entire medical and conditioning operation.
A lot of things blew me away, but one thing in particular was a real eye opener. Every day when each player arrives for training a thermal image of their legs is taken. This highlights a number of things, not least individual muscles that need reactivating and any potential areas of inflammation. The results are used to produce individual warm up exercises for each player each day. The warm up for each player is undertaken by the team of physios, the coaching staff aren’t allowed anywhere near it.
This club has very few injuries that aren’t contact injuries.
Didn't you post in the past you had spoken with an EPL Club doctor who was in effect the clubs Head of medical services and he was the one who set out daily training programmes for the players not the coaching staff? Is this the same club?I mentioned elsewhere that last month I spent the day at the training complex of a leading PL club being shown the entire medical and conditioning operation.

Yes, that was me, and it’s the same club. The very sensible (and very successful and much coveted) manager is more than happy to defer to the medical team on how training has to be, and he reaps the dividends of it.Didn't you post in the past you had spoken with an EPL Club doctor who was in effect the clubs Head of medical services and he was the one who set out daily training programmes for the players not the coaching staff? SUFC really lag behind others on the medical side not least our hydrotherapy is in a portacabin at Shirecliffe. Its an area that requires a huge upgrade and can't wait for the building of a new training centre. The joint owner Eltoukhy has indicated his willingness to share his medical data company's knowledge and hopefully this will be used.
Eltoukhy's companies all seem to be mainly based on DNA sequencing. If we want to clone players maybe we've got a head start. Prevention and treatment of, say, hamstring injuries could be another matter. In that respect, I think Eltoukhy will be brilliant for us.
Or maybe not if, as has been indicated, he is pushing for an upgrade in terms of the medical side of things. I don’t think anyone is expecting him to be a hands on physio. Given his background I would imagine he will want us to embrace the science.Eltoukhy's companies all seem to be mainly based on DNA sequencing. Dr Bryan English our Head of Medical Services has all the credentials to take on a similar role in terms of organising training. He has extensive background knowledge in football having been at Chelsea and with CW at Middlesbrough. Add in his time spent with UK Athletics and the Club have a resource already in situ. This Blue Sky approach to management of injuries and conditioning is exactly what SUFC need. Just need a very sensible and successful much coveted manager to defer to Dr Bryan. Hopefully the relationship engendered at Middlesbrough will facilitate this together with Eltoukhys input.Yes, that was me, and it’s the same club. And yes, we are absolutely light years behind. In that respect, I think Eltoukhy will be brilliant for us.

And with that name Wilder will likely get on with himHe does seem like a top bloke, Dr English
Souza has been unlucky with some of the yellows he has picked up, the one on Saturday at Luton being very harsh. I would argue that it was not even a foul, yet he was cautioned for it. He will always pick up lots of "unlucky" ones in this day and age due to the position he plays and the nonsense refereeing/rules that are in place nowadays. Anel is simply an arse at times with his bachchat and pulling back. Not injury related, but...
Hamer is on 10 yellow cards.
If he reaches 15 before the end of the season he will receive a 3 match ban.
Anel & Souza are on 8 yellow cards.
If they reach 10 yellow cards before match 37 they will receive 2 match bans.
Suspensions carry into the play-offs.
Considering how much football Souza has missed, it's crazy that he's in this position.
I won't be at all shocked to see him pick up the 2 game ban.
I suggested similar for all the female staff arriving to the office.I mentioned elsewhere that last month I spent the day at the training complex of a leading PL club being shown the entire medical and conditioning operation.
