I would guess baldrick and Anel have had recurring injuries.
our team for Boxing Day with Anel, Bogle, Hamer and Osula suspended as well as our usual quota of injuries is going to make v sad reading.

Hope we've got most players fit for Luton game! Sounds like a few players had knocks after Chelsea game.

Anel
Hamer
McBurnie
Osula

Longer term;
Egan
Basham
RND
Davies
Jebbison
Brewster

CW managed the players today rested some so they are fit.

We use to just play them into the ground then wonder what’s happening.

Excellent management.

This area has definitely improved since Wilders return which is one positive.
I think we only have 3 players out/long term.

Egan
Basham
T.Davies

The only current long term absentee is Bash. That puts us amongst the best PL teams for squad fitness. The transformation didn’t just start with CW’s return, it suggests that lessons had been learned and changes implemented prior to that.

True, only taken 2 years.

Chris Wilder has been in charge for 23 days now (appt on 5 Dec) - played 5 matches - and our injury list has reduced unbelievably.

What on earth was Hecky & his staff doing with the players???? Is this just luck? As you say, we have moved on from this issue now (thank heavens) …. but I still find the change incredible.

Its beyond coincidence that we have been scraping the barrel with players being available and players getting injured going for a piss for about 2 years and then in just over 3 weeks since PH was moved on, the injuries situation starts improving immeasurably.

Clearly the conditioning and training routines were not correct. Hecky does have form for it though at his previous jobs. For that constantly appalling injury record alone, he should have been shown the door. It'll be the same for PH at his next club, just watch.

Anybody who can turn around long term hamstring / muscle injuries in 23 days is a miracle worker. The current ( very welcome) siituation is clearly the result of a longer ongoing process. The opportunity lies in the prevention of its recurrence.
