I don't think it will be happy end to the window but similarly I don't think Andy Giddings has too much insight into what is happening.

Tuesday is going to be horrific. Especially if we lost tomorrow. God knows what the atmosphere will be like at the next home game too.

Beyond toxic I expect and you know what, the board will have deserved it, assuming some of them are there to hear it of course.

To be fair, he nearly didn’t. Arsenal walked away and we chased after them i think
they walked away from our 35m valuation and we walked away from their 18m valuation we met in the middle 24m with 6m in add ons

What I don't get is the Vieria deal was done. Surely we have the money for someone similar
I think the money is clearly there for the loans as planned, but our start has maybe put a few players off given the level of the player we’re targeting. Still think there’s next to zero chance that there’s not 3,4, maybe even 5 new players in by the time the window shuts. My only concern is around the quality if our top targets reject us.

Best update my CV by the sounds of it...

Zero chance he resigns. He’s got a massive contract and no one else likely to match it and that’s before we get into the work permit he needs.
Agreed but he's making it perfectly clear that if we have a shite season the blame lies with the board. It appears he was promised a lot more than has been delivered...so far.

If we were going to get players in it would have happened by now.

If we aren’t going to add a keeper or any creativity we are probably going down. And we would fully deserve that.

Again it’s one to address after Tuesday, however our start to the season isn’t helping us.

I'm absolutely certain that if we bring no one in this window (other than Davies) we will still not go down as I think we will find full fitness, a formation that suits, the young lads will get stronger and better, and some out of form may well come back into form with the confidence of a few wins. In fact I think we will be more than comfortable.

On the other hand, I don't see us challenging to go up either and that's what Count Slav was brought into the club to do this season. A wasted season as he clears the decks.

If the board have given him undertakings then they shouldn't renege on those - poor form and unprofessional if they do.

I think the issues have been caused, at least the majority of them, by the boards deluded thinking (and hence probable planning) that someone would come in and buy both Ramsdale and Berge for around £35M each and so provide funds to spend on new players. Ramsdale has gone but nobody wants anything to do with berge unless it is for a fraction of what the board want and need. So basically they are now fucked on what they promised Slav.

What annoys me is that we apparently turned down a large bid from Milan for the lad we own who is over in Belgium.

Now its great to have one for the future and to help sister clubs out, but when you need every swinging dick in the field then perhaps we should have sold him and put aside that money raised to help SUFC just in case it was needed. No offence to Beerschot but that £12m would come in very handy right now for our transfer pot. Coulibaly? better be the real deal idc.

You have to laugh.

Man City are desperate for a striker and they are one of the richest clubs in the world.
They didn‘t bother chasing Messi because they were focussed on buying Harry Kane.
However surprisingly they couldn’t do the deal.

So they moved on to signing Ronaldo from Juventus…..they are desperate for a striker and were so so close.
Then at the last second he chooses Man United.

So when one of the richest clubs in the world with the best manager can’t persuade a striker to join them.
It shows just how difficult it can be targeting ambitious signing.
To be fair though, the players available to improve them is a much smaller pool than the players available to improve us.

Plus they are dealing with elite clubs who in many cases (Haaland, Lewandowski) probably don't need the money in the hand to mouth sort of way a lot of clubs do and are loathe to lose an irreplaceable asset.

He's probably at a point work permit wise they if he wants to remain in UK then he needs to top up his recent experience. Another year or so out and he might be a bit 50/50 on renewal, perhaps.

I personally think with the likes of Lowe and Smith already going, and Burke close, we'll see a few loan signings before COB on Tuesday. But I think those loans will be of relatively unknown youngsters from Premier sides; certainly not the likes of Diallo.

I think we'll also see one big sale; perhaps Jebbison for circa 10m and a loan back which will be utterly futile.

It seems the recruitment team needs a revamp. We are clearly failing to recruit anyone in the market we are shopping in and aren't adapting that approach. I think most blades could identify some championship players that would be good signings rather than competing with PL clubs for players that have barely any game time for 1 or 2 seasons.

Today - Match day
Tomorrow - Sunday
Monday - Bank Holiday
So effectively we have one more working day of the transfer window left....

Can the people negotiating deals not work on match days, Sunday’s or Bank holidays?

If he walks now he will be fine and Wilder will be vindicated. It's the board, not them.

wilder had money and then some.

he just didn’t know what to do with it. Recruitment was appalling for the best part of 2 seasons.

I’m not sure with hindsight we’d make any signing since promotion again
