Never understood why we need to buy cheap, tacky goods from China. Mainly junk (no pun intended). Surely we can make and sell our own trash. Can remember when we made things for the rest of the world which were considered the best. Thank you Mrs T.Fair point, no problem with criticising Xi, but calling a nation of people defective is a few steps too far.
It’s bit late the day to be looking at blame for this. Different countries will have to develop their responses based on knowledge, understanding and resources. The response in 3rd world and developing countries will be different, even between western countries like UK and USA, standards and responses will differ.
The UK solution is tailored to our needs and available resources. Africa, Europe, Asia and North America are all in different scenarios based on what I describe above.
The virus could yet mutate and cause further problems. No one knows for definite what will work best, but the different regimes and different options will have different results.
It’s possible that most of Europe and UK could be virus free by 1 October 2020. What if people in Italy and Spain are still infected and dying.
The challenge today, is to eradicate the virus in UK first, then plan limited reintroduction for sports and entertainment events.
Maybe the English leagues can play out the rest of the season, but Euro club competitions could still be under sanction.
These are the most likely scenarios with the current UK system, disease peaking in 10 - 14 weeks, with another 12 weeks to eradicate it. The UK will probably be able to resume activity in October this year. That’s the best you can hope for.
Others can resume when the battle is over depending on their response.
This is simple guesswork based on current facts, knowledge and understanding by me. Take it or leave it.
It’s worse than that.Ask yourself who benefits from all of this. Who controls the supply chains?
This virus is the best thing that has ever happened to the Chinese government.
Not to be picky but behind closed doors does ruin home advantage.
I don't see why we can't just push back next season and start it in January say.
It’s very hard to tell in Castleford....Anyone die at Castleford today?
Just asking.
So people who may have the virus can congregate with others and watch it, in close proximity? Can’t see any issues with thatSorry if I'm behind the curve with this, but wouldn't it be possible to show games live on big screens. It would be a long way from ideal but at least it might offer a solution.
It’s very hard to tell in Castleford....
There was a post on FB yesterday where some imbecile admitted that he had no expertise whatsoever on the subject of Covid 19 but he had spent “hours” reading about it online and he could definitely state that the Chief Medical Officers statements and strategy were wrong.
What are you doing to address all this. Posting on a football forum isn't going to do anything - so what are YOU going to do to make a difference?Fucking send a complaint then, like you do for everything else. ❄
Me saying that probably upsets you more than the torture all those different animals endure every day over there doesn't it? It needs addressing. It's fucked up. They are fucked up. Now they've fucked us all maybe there's a small chance it will be addressed.
It’s called a global recession and is now pretty much inevitable. In 5 or 6 months, football might be able to resume in UK. That is just the best case scenario. The biggest issue here, and it’s sad that it’s true, is that the economy in general (including football clubs) will be destroyed by all of this and potentially lead to as many deaths as the bloody virus.
Think about it...if all the loons in the world got their way demanding the world stop for 4 months while the virus dies out, then where does the food come from? How do people buy the food? How do companies generate money to pay staff? What happens to the thousands of folk and their families who lose jobs when their employer is gone? Humans aren’t able to simply hunt and gather.
It may be shit, but it’s going to lead to folk struggling to survive and the long term effects could be huge, so the best solution was to let it ride its course, yes the vulnerable may perish but for the rest and it seems 90% of The world it’s business as usual, life goes on in the same way it does when people get ill with annual colds, flu, virus’s etc that cause chest infections, stomach bugs and the like.
I realise this is controversial, but knee jerk reactions without looking at the bigger picture and The consequences of ill thought out decisions are more serious than what is trying to be achieved.
The virus will spread regardless. The best solution was always for those most vulnerable to bear the brunt of the risk, for them to take necessary precautions to protect themselves and hope they get through it.
This isn’t a selfish view because I miss football, it’s a realistic and honest opinion. Fact is there’s always something threatening life and human existence, some things we can control, some we can’t no matter what we try and do to resolve it. (Like feeding Africa for example) This planet can only support so much, and when it gets to saturation then something has to give and this is another one of those times.
Most the time we don’t give a monkeys as it doesn’t affect us, we live in a place where infant mortality doesn’t mean we have to have 10 kids to get a few through to adulthood...if we get ill with life threatening illness we can often cure it or prolong life...you get the point.
My apologies for assuming that different country’s might have different responses to the virus.![]()
The first Blades game after this will be a massive party.
In that case i apologise for the lack of clarity in your reply to my original post.Which is not what I said.
Imagine if we'd not all been sucked into believing all this project fear bollocks. Imagine if we had the means to test everyone. Imagine if we had a government that dealt in honesy, integrity and equality.Imagine if COVID-19 hadn't fuckin showed up at all.
And there my friend is the motivation for putting this bullshit out there it could be argued. It’s worse than that.
Share prices around the world are collapsing. Umpteen businesses are likely to go bust. The Chinese have plenty of money to buy them up.
When it’s all over China will own a big chunk of the world economy.
In that case i apologise for the lack of clarity in your reply to my original post.![]()
