The prince has always been upfront about wanting to make money ,that what investors try to do ,for me he's been the best we've had in a long time ,just think if social media was around when hinchcliff ,Woodhouse ,McDonald ,and all the other nomarks we've had running us . I'll welcome the new owner and then judge him or her on their actions over a few years .

So, before the new owners effectively agreed to repay the Prince upon completion of the takeover, he was looking to sell players to cover the monies owed to the EFL so we didn't incur anymore penalties. Essentially because he wouldn't/couldn't put the money in himself.

The new owners have agreed to pay him back so outstanding EFL debt effectively sorted.

Andy, you're annoyed at this. Annoyed because the Prince wouldn't/couldn't budge on the debt without assurances it would be paid back to him? If so I'm not too sure why really. Seems a fair enough stance to take. The only issue for me is the timing hasn't enabled us to bring anyone in, but if the 'standoff' had to run it's course then so be it.

Ultimately as Blades, I think most people will just be happy, however it occurred, that we've held on to two of our players and we can just get on with the rest of the season.

Why do you think that is a fair stance to take?

Why do you think that is a fair stance to take?
Because I'm guessing from his perspective he didn't want to (or couldn't) stump up the cash for a business he was about to be bought out of unless he had assurances it'd be repayed. Maybe he felt (rightly or wrongly) the takeover has dragged on due to length of EFL checks and that's what landed him in that situation?

Obviously just guesses, but I can see a number of scenarios where him taking that stance wouldn't be unreasonable.

Look at it from buyers point of view. Or, are they gambling we are so far ahead we will get promoted without committing to “Championship quality players”? If we get promoted most of out first teams contracts are near the end. This will allow them to pick and choose who they keep to stay in PL rather than having players like Freeman in the PL on a 3 year deal and buy PL ready players as contracts expire or current players are sold/not renewed.

This is forward squad building strategy imo not tying to players that would struggle to make 1st team squad.

Its happening folks.

Or in the words of Champagneblade the promotion train is coming Choo choo

Here we go again. There’s no point in this rumour board, you and some others are attention bores that are cynical of anyone who decides to comment (no more)

Yeah could be. I'm sure the management team would have liked to have brought one or two in, but when wouldn't they.

Morning Blades Fans. How is everyone? Still checking this thread? Me too. Still, one day eh. One day. In the words of Mr Brewster..."soon soon" whatever that means!!!

Surely you can appreciate that it's tiring how you keep taking in riddles.
When ever you've made specific predictions they've turned out to be wrong, hence you return to the safety of being vague
Also what is highly unusual is that you seem to have a personal (quite emotional) vendetta against the Prince. Why?

Anyhow here's my theory.

You're getting your info in the pub over a game of pool with your mate Chris Wilder.
Suspect Wilder still has close ties with some high level people within the club and may be getting snippets of info from someone like Steve Bettis.
Bettis obviously won't be divulging too much to Wilder but will have given him some cryptic clues like the owners aren't from your usual football continents.
Might have told he's pi$$ed off and not happy about the Prince's recent behaviour regards his disappearing act and refusal to pay bills since early Dec.
Might have also told him he has some concerns about the new owners too as its all quite secretive as they aren't contacting him and letting him know about where he stands regards his future at SUFC. Bettis is worried he might soon be out of a job when the new owners arrive.

Wilder will still have beef with The Prince and has probably been slagging him off to you in the pub, so you feel it important to put the truth out there
that the Prince isn't this wonderful person and can turn quite nasty, cold and selfish when it comes down to money and business.
Bettis will have told Wilder (who is still a Blade and wants the best for us) that The Prince is willing to sell both Berge and N'Diaye and isn't interested in incomings,
so unless the new owners become more active and take some level of control then it's going to be a disaster of a transfer window, thanks to the Prince.
So from your insider knowledge you still don't feel comfortable until The Prince is totally out of the club and feel something bad could still happen.

The issue is that sometimes there are 2 different versions of the same truth, it depends on who is giving their version of those events.

I can't help feeling your trying to explain without really saying anything of genuine substance. Which, if you're protecting yourself, fine, but just be clear. Which ever way that has to be.

Technique A: nothing to lose - 'this is exactly what's happening, including names, numbers, dates'
Technique B: protecting your real life - 'I can't say details because (insert reason you're getting cagier by the hour) but I can say - something cryptic but at least we now know why your doing The Times Crossword impressions'

My view is that anyone who is aware of what has been going on at the club will feel emotional about it. It's hard in those circumstances to keep your mouth shut especially when lots of people are posting stuff that's just plain wrong (sometimes in good faith based on the information that's available and sometimes not) - it's just human nature. But, there are obvious implications to doing so and then you get stuck in a halfway house of saying some things but not saying too many things.

Hopefully everything goes through as planned and we can move on. Personally, I'd like all the details to come out in time but I don't expect they will. Think there will be a watertight NDA in place.

It's all very clear now what happened. The Prince absolved his duties in the running of the club, and left it to the incoming owner. The issue with a missed payment has cropped up and the Prince thinks the new owner should stump up. Obviously there has been a mexican style standoff, which boiled down to the Prince threatening to sell prize assets to sort it. This was brinkmanship in a way, but I believe Andy67 that he was fully prepared to do it - his loyalty is towards his personal wealth and not the Blades. The new owner has had to step in to protect his soon to be Golden Goose.

Has that about covered it?

It's as a good an explanation of possible events imho

I cannot see how the new owner would be prepared to invest money into the club if he did not have control of its asset, it makes no sense

I thought the general consensus was that some money had already been put in aside from the 10 mill deposit?

Unless the deal is all more or less wrapped up ? The new owner would have a hell of a lot to lose by risking any prize assets, and maybe he thought it was worth that risk.

It may well have been, but either way if I were investing Would at least want control of disposals

Next you’ll be telling me he had the money all along or he found a bottle with a genie in it.
Is this a new clue? New owner could possibly be a woman. There’s an A in the name of the person, country or continent. We now have a genie in a bottle. I’m going for Christina Aguilera.

You are claiming to know stuff and then giving it “all will be revealed”... that’s just telling everyone you know stuff but they can’t know it yet. If you weren’t an attention whore you’d just let it play out in the way you think it will - at which point everyone will share the same opinion about the Prince.

I’d be surprised if anything was revealed that paints the Prince in a bad light due to non-disclosure agreements. So I guess we’ll just have to take Andy’s word for it 🤣

I blame it on your delivery and tone. Some net-practice and a packet of Jakeman's will see you right.

Meanwhile, Barney as the Flounce King has lost his crown.

Andy knows fuck all. He got a few guesses right and it got to his head.

I've noticed a tone in some of the stars journalists tweets there is more going on that is disruptive than we know about.
