Talk this morning that they are looking to sell Gordon this window, to fund a move.

Haven't Leeds just splashed out £35m on a striker. With Rodrigo playing well and scoring and Bamford regaining fitness, would they really be looking for another striker in Jan, especially when they could potentially get the player much cheaper in summer?

Illiman has said he wants to play for Marseille in France. I think his next move will be there or another top French team.
I think this would be the best move for him. Stay with us and get promoted. He and the club get a bigger pay day in the summer.

However, I would expect that if we go up, we would offer a deal that would be at the top of our budget - he is going to be an outstanding player at the very top level so the longer that he stays with us, the better for us.

I don’t think we sell illy at all but I doubt he or his agent would be thinking Everton are guaranteed going down either

It’s a thing with supporters my age. We saw Jones, Curry, Hanson, Deane, Sabella and the like do the dirty on us

I've heard Everton are offering him a unique deal.

They want him to be their new player manager.

In all seriousness with a week of the window left it would not surprise me to hear of more rumours and perhaps bids. Guess we will just have to see how it transpires.

This fabrizio guy is often quite up to date with transfers but he was pretty convinced Berge was going on deadline day last year and Kone coming in.
Of course he did learn it wasn't going through in the early hours too.

I imagine he may well be correct that both player and club's current desire is to stay.
But hypothetically someone comes in with a £25m bid with say 10m add ons or more. This might test the clubs resole and the players. Especially if it was Marseille!

i suspect if any clubs offer 25m plus for nidaye it will definetly be considered by the club in the current financial climate although it would be a mistake imo given the position were in with one foot in the premier league but money talks im afraid

Not sure our fan base understand the riches of the premier league £25million is peanuts compared to the £150million for going up. Sell no one!

Plus if we get new (rich owners) we they can afford to make him our highest payed player!

Cannot see him being worth less than Ramsdale, but it’s all about circumstances and how much a team(s) want someone.

I am not sure you understand despite the riches of Premier League TV money this is completely eaten away with wages and transfer fees Every club in the Premier League loses money Not peanuts - millions

The only two years in the last 15 years that the club made a profit were the two in the Premier league!

Ignoring our current league position, on purely football terms he has to be worth at least what we paid for Brewster as a minimum - Brewster had had half a season at Swansea when we signed him. Admittedly Ndiaye’s contract situation will reduce his value. As others have said, IMO £25m with add ons would appear about right and is consistent with MGW’s transfer to Forest.

It would be a devastating blow to lose him at this stage of the season but an offer from an established club at that sort of money would test the resolve of pretty much any championship club without a sugar daddy owner when his contract will only have 12 months to run at the end of the season.

Not sure the fanbase understand the concept of cashflow and that money doesn't grow on trees. I doubt there would be any need to sell him if the takeover went through. If it didn't though, probably a great need.

The guy who plays in goal for the best club in the Premier League? That guy? That English guy. That English guy with English caps?

I feel some of our fans are overestimating how good Ndiaye is right now. Seriously telling me he'd walk into the Arsenal team?

We might get more than we did for Ramsdale, because he pushed for the move and we were in the Championship with no suggestion of going straight back up, but it seems an odd comparison.

I believe that most signings are done on a staged payment basis, no matter the size of the club.
Of course you are right thats why McCabe would not of signed them . He was mega careful some times to careful with cash but we would not have been facing the problem we have now . Just hope it is a blip and nothing else . Hope the books which might well show other things like loans etc do not put new owners off buying the club. I might feel better when the deal regarding ownership is cleared up depending who the mystery buyer is.

It’s comparing the guy who was our record sale with a guy who could potentially be our record sale.
it’s all about what they bring to the team, the one they are leaving as well as the one they are going to.
I think we did v well to get the price we did assuming it will eventually be over £30m

he would not walk into the arsenal team At the moment as they have players with more premier league experience who were also purchased for more than Ramsdale or have been brought through their youth system

please also note the use of my word circumstances

Yes its is strange yet while he was here many of our fans thought he was only average some did not even rate him yet gunners fans think he is great.

Yes accepted. However we didn't manage to stay there and to some extent that has to go down to signings and wages. We are now left with a wage bill of £24 million and that isn't sustainable

I'd say it's not unreasonable to think Ndiaye is on Trossard's level currently. Also that he's probably better than Nkethiah.

No way to evidence either of those opinions though.

Anyway, Iliman is staying and signing a new contract when ownership is sorted.

Off to Liverpool in 2.5 seasons time for circa £75mill.

Really? No way to evidence either of them?

Don't get me wrong, I love Iliman and he's an incredible talent...potentially the most gifted we've ever had.

But he's not in the same league as either of the two you mentioned...not yet at least.

Trossard has goals and assists in the Europa, a decent return for Belgium (No1 ranked side in the world in recent years) and 4 years of proven GA records in the Premier League, playing for a struggling team until recently.

Nketiah has 5.5 years of PL experience, scoring at least once in the last 5 seasons, playing off the bench for the most part. Also scored in the Europa League, and has 13 in 9 for the U21s, which I believe is some sort of record?

Illi has one PL appearance, a handful of decent games for Senegal and 1.5 good seasons at a Champ club that has a better squad than most teams in the division.

Ndiaye is a baller, and I love him, but there are levels to this

He's not LITERALLY in the same league as Nketiah. Yet. But Iliman is more talented in various ways.

I've always rated Nketiah, BUT, he's not going to have the career Ndiaye will. They're different types of player.... But i know who I'd rather have at Blades.

I've always rated Trossard as well - yes he's done well in the Prem, but Iliman is likely to also. We don't know yet, of course.

I don't object to your views however, good sir.

I can only assume the first sentence is a wind up. That or check into an institution!

If you want to compare him with someone, try Eze or Bowen. Both went for somewhere around £20 million.

if this takeover falls through he will be sold make no mistake about that current finances to keep the club alive are more important than future monies if we get to the premier league which still isnt definete

You've missed out the other bit of the equation. United have made it clear time and time again.

They are willing to sell ANY PLAYER (like almost every club) but the buying club must meet our valuation
AND we have a suitable replacement lined line which ensures our team is the same level or strengthened.

It's obvious SUFC won't do anything to damage their chances of receiving 100's of millions.
So if we sold N'Diaye we would have someone similar lined up to come in, to ensure we still have a great chance of promotion.
Basically, common sense says the chance of N'Diaye being sold in the next few days are extremely slim.
