There's no money left in the club at the moment. The current owner either can't or won't put additional money in and creditors of (apparently) varying sizes are not being paid.

That is not a healthy business. If the facility existed to borrow money against future earnings to pay these bills it would have been used. Takeover or not, the finances are extremely unhealthy which is a massive risk

Why do you think there is a risk of us going pop?

The Prince set out his plan for what would happen if we didn't get promoted this year a while ago, we sell assets and invest in young players. Hecky has been doing that already bringing a few through "just in case"

Keeping Berge, Brewster, McBurnie and any other big earners is a risk when you go down but getting those wages off will be manageable?

I agree, he did just that. The issue is that we sold no asset in the summer, and we currently have a cash shortfall. I suspect we thought Berge would go. Didn't happen, we're £15-20m worse off, and are now struggling to pay bills. Maybe the gamble will pay off as we get promoted, but it's just that - we've gambled. For sure, Sander wouldn't be here under McCabe, but I doubt we'd be under a transfer embargo.

But if you type his surname correctly...

I did a search an Everton forum search via google and only Badou N'Diaye came up.
Fair point....if you go into the Everton forums and use the search....then it's brought up some Illiman N'Diaye comments.

My point was more about outside Sheffield United our N'Diaye doesn't register, hardly any fans at PL level has even heard of him.
Think PL clubs see him as young potential from the lower divisions, a risky buy and hope to buy him on the cheap.
United won't sell him on the cheap, so no deal....

Summer23 if we achieve promotion will be interesting regards how much interest his agent received from other PL clubs.
If there's loads of interest and big salary promised then he'll probably refuse our contract offer.
However if there's little interest (which is possible) then signing for us for £30K a week might be his best offer.

This one clearly knows his stuff. A prime example of an entitled Premier League club supporter.

Imagine being "always injured" and featuring in EVERY league game and the FA Cup... not forgetting 3x apps in the World Cup 🤣

I'm not a McCabe fan at all but we also oversold it (Slew, Mellis etc)

Rare occasions we "oversold" under his tenure. We didn't get that much for Slew and it only looks a good deal in hindsight because he flopped.

3 years apart from the Mellis and Slew transfers and McCabe still sold them for a £1mill each. Transfer asking price barely went up when Kev was around. As long as the offer wasn't under £1million he was keen to do business.

McCabe in charge Berge never gets signed in the first place.

We sign Callum Robinson, Ben Osborn and Luke Freeman only.

How much will it take to prise Jordan Slew from you Kevin?

OK, what about Mellis?

It'd be madness for us to sell him in the position we're in and equally mad for him to go to Everton.

I think we have to resign ourselves to the inevitability that he'll leave in the next couple of seasons.

Either we fail to go up and he leaves or we go up, he plays a season of Premier League football for us then he leaves for considerably more money than Everton are offering and will likely sign for a much better club than them.

This is a non starter, we will have no incomings (obvs) and no outgoings this Jan, the money owed for the trf fees will be paid this week via a loan agreement to raise the funds...only a silly offer for illiman would be considered(£30m+)

It's a risk averse stewardship. Yes sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate, but if we have no takeover, and manage to fuck up our promotion, then we'll be in deep doo dah next season, that's for sure. Under McCabe, it never felt like the club weren't going to be kept afloat.

Carlton Blade mentioned the other day that he's reckoned one club will go bust in a big way soon, and it could well be us if things don't go as planned over the next few months. Say what you like about the time under McCabe, but we knew we were skint, and budgeted appropriately. It never felt like we would 'pop'.
I agree mate we were always in a safe place .The alarm bells ranged for me when McCabe had to step in when players looked like going without wages which was down to the Prince not putting in cash he promised. McCabe was always careful sometimes to careful with the clubs cash but we never had a situation like we have at the moment.

On the counterside, would McCabe have locked Wilder and Duffy in a room with a 12 pack of Peroni, and tell them not to come out until they'd settled their argument?

I doubt it, I think Duffy was going to get offloaded or barely played since Wilder switched to a flat 3 in midfield.

Made me laugh, many fans of PL clubs do seem like a separate breed with their lack of knowledge and sense of entitlement.

Anything non PL related doesn't even register, there's such a massive disrespect.
In most cases the 3 teams that come up form the Championship are never rated and are automatically (with no knowledge) hot favourites for instant relegation.
So the very fact that N'Diaye has only made ONE appearance in the Premier League means he's currently a nobody.

The World Cup commentary kind of proved this. They kept repeating that Sarr of Watford is the best player in the Championship
and our player N'Diaye hardly had a single mention....which in many ways helped us keeping him out of the spotlight.

My big fear was that N'Diaye would have a great World Cup...score a spectacular goal and become an overnight sensation making him fashionable.
However he was often sub and played little bit of matches, so isn't currently a regular/ main player in the Senegal side.
Daft as it sounds his low key World Cup means there's less likely to be big bids or interest, so he is more likely to sign the contract we offer him.

You are right McCabe would not have signed him but if he had I dont think it would have been on the tick.

To give people some type of clue regards the validity of the Everton interest.

Just type in "Everton forum N'Diaye" into google.
It only comes up showing that they had an interest (a few year back) in signing Badou N'Diaye.

Hardly any Everton fans will even know who Iliman N'Diaye is
and they won't be impressed, as they see it, wasting £15 million on an untested inexperienced lower division player.

Anyhow on the main GrandOldTeam Everton forum there's not even a single thread regards possibly signing our player.
Think that tells you everything.
Woah someone who's done a slight bit of research! Better than our local journos 😂

Why did we spend so much on Freeman then? I think the intention was to be able to do either, just that Lundstram was demonstratively better than Freeman in the first half of the season, so that's what we kept on with.

It's just been confirmed on Talksport radio that Everton have no money to spend in the JTW.

If they want to make signings then they need to be creative and have equivalent sales lined up too.
Selling Jordan Pickford would give them a decent transfer kitty but as he's been their best player....they don't think Everton would dare sell Pickford.

One things for sure. If Everton go down Pickford will go. They dont pick Englands No.1 GK from the Championship.

The trouble is by the sounds of it we still owe money on the players mentioned . So selling them would only enable us to pay (hopefully) what we owe on them . May be even then with the players contract running down we might not get what we owe on them . Lets just hope we can retain our players and secure a return to the prem and may be we will be able to pay off our debts . The trouble is we have a ageing team which will be in need of a new influx of new young talent just hope our guys at Shirecliffe can supply us with some or our new owners are willing and ABLE to spend some cash .

It is too charitable to describe Everton as a club in crisis. A crisis can be solved with the right people in charge. Everton are engulfed in a civil war, the consequences could be catastrophic, and it is a measure of the turmoil that the potential endgame for a manager with the worst win ratio bar the hapless Mike Walker is not dominating their agenda before the trip to West Ham.

Frank Lampard returns to his first club on Saturday having presided over 10 defeats in 13 matches and Everton’s descent to joint bottom of the Premier League. Awaiting him is David Moyes, who also hasn’t won a league game since late October, who has also collected 15 points and whose job is also on the line before a fortnight’s break in the league. It is not fantasy to suggest the Scot could resurface back at Goodison Park should West Ham part company.

etc

This is the sort of mess you can get into under new ownership...

I appreciate we will no doubt have cash flow restrictions with/without new owners, but is there not an option (and the club may have tried this already) to give Illy a bumper contract on a par with our highest earner (who I believe is Berge), with some buy out clauses to protect him if e.g we aren't promoted this year, or then relegated next season.

He gets the contract, he is also protected if we don't go up, and if we do go up he gets further % increases and is protected if we were to get relegated.

Someone keep telling Everton that Illy is always injured.
