ah yes, forgot to mention that the sound on the live video stream seems to get out of sync with the video. anyone else notice that?
Yep - I find the video stream is fine first half and once you've manged to sync the audio to match (albeit on a different device which is bollox...) it's excellent. But.... then second half, the video stutters all the time so continuously going back and forth trying to sync (and often hearing about goals b4 u see them...). This has happened the last 2-3 games (first few games, the firt hlaf video was crap as well). So overall, very unimpressed. Any body else notice the same thing second half?

Watched 3 games now - Cardiff, Sunderland and Bolton. Windows 8 machine via HD cable to 3 different TV's. Use Nord VPN. Picture fine all through, no spooling at all with an internet speed around 12Mb/sec through the VPN. Only issue is when trying to delay the video, as hitting pause stops it but doesn't create a play button. I have to hit the back 10 secs button then the forward 10 secs button!

Overall delighted though as I find it way too stressful listening to a radio commentary when I can't see what's happening.

Not perfect but still hugely worth the $140 that I paid.

Magic

For those noticing second half stuttering, l don't think it's anything to do with your/our connections. Reduce the video quality down to the minimum, the stuttering persists, rewatch a section and the stutter will appear at the same point in the footage. This indicates its dropped frames from the upload end IMO.

For what is worth and because it was asked on the last page, I'm a fully paid up foreign viewer, 75mbps, i7, Windows 10 laptop running Chrome, hooked up to a plasma TV via HDMI. My experience is broadly the same as others - sound via second tab with (consistently) a 12 second delay in the video to sync. First half great, second half the stuttering becomes noticeable, by the end of the match it's noticeable more often and is a pain in the arse.

Out of interest, l watched a streamed version (no commentary) for Notlob and the stuttering in the second half was evident in the stream, having been virtually flawless until that point, although at a lower resolution than a direct feed. I'll go back to my set up for Saturday as l like to see how many times Keith E can put his foot in it during the match....

To whom it may concern,

I'm writing to you in an attempt to resolve an issue with the quality of the streamed, 'live' content on Match Day.

Essentially, the problem is, throughout a match there is what appears to be an accumulative problem with dropped frames in the UPLOADED data - the first half of games there are very few, if any, noticeable frame rate issues. However, progressively, over the course of a match, the severity and frequency of these issues increases. This results, by the latter stage of the games, in a pause / stutter in the footage, a couple of seconds long, every few minutes. Not ideal.

In at attempt to trouble shoot the problem, I've reduced the resolution of the stream and the stuttering persists. I've cleared my Cache and the stuttering persists. I've paused the footage in an attempt to 'cache' some date and the stuttering persists. I've re-watched sections of footage and stutters appear at the same time stamp in the stream. I've consulted online forums and have read countless comments of exactly the same issue. '1st half great, 2nd half skipping and unwatchable' even from different clubs.

I believe I've watched 3 or 4 games this season via ifollow and as far as I recall, in each game the situation is the same - dropped frames, progressively more noticeable in the second half of matches.

For your reference, I'm in Cyprus, have a 75mbps connection, I'm viewing on an i7 Windows 10 PC and using Google Chrome as my browser. No other streaming service suffers any comparable issue.

Thanks in advance,

Ron.

Not expecting much TBH, but it might be an idea that if you have an issue, email them. Feel free to copy/paste this and change the relevant bits to suit.

Have sent a similar email, just to see how the responses differ based on who picks it up :D

Just wondering if it might be down to loading on their servers - maybe lot more people tune in for the second half and they can't handle the demand?

Good luck with it anyway, I've cancelled my subscription for the UK service as I think it is appalling.

'Hi Ron,

We seem to be having some issues in some European countries with issues just like you are experiencing.
We have a team that oversee the quality all games and on our end we have no issues and many users don't have problems.

The issue seems to be linked with certain Internet Service Providers limiting bandwidth - Live Streaming is bandwidth heavy for providers ( your connection may be 75mb speed but this is unrelated to bandwidth) and we see a pattern emerging, where some users have a good first half and the problems start in the second half. This is because the communication between your connection and the ISP is showing your download is high bandwidth

What I am suggesting is is at half time for the next match, fully restart your PC - and your modem too. This should re-set the information to your ISP. Re-connect and this should ensure no more problems. If there is problems, please send us screenshots, do a speed test, and as much information as possible and local times these issues are happening so I can escalate this higher for investigation.

Also please note our streaming service is primarily live, and not a server based streaming service such as Netflix - so there for our bandwidth is more heavy. If you have these issues watching full match highlights and other videos please report this us.

Thank you for your time,

Robert, I Follow Support'

So basically, 'have you turned it off and on again? `

Deleted my app, now I can't download it!

The 1st half of the Bolton game was shocking for me. Kept freezing and then a black screen. I had to refresh my browser constantly and missed the goal. I sent them an email at half time but they couldn't give a shiny brown one. 2nd half was perfect though.

Any of our International viewers (Desktop PC not seeing the "Watch Live now" button today?

I've looked at my subscription and seems to be showing only the normal subscription (previous subscription from Blades Player)

Update: Seems that you are now not allowed to log in on more than one device at the same time. previously i was able to log in to the phone and pc, this made things much more bearable as i was able to watch on the PC (no commentary) and then listen to the RS feed on the phone.

For me this is very restrictive, for Euro 130 for a season, it seems that they are taking more and more away from the service

First they blocked the sky games, now they have restricted multi device login and what next?

mine's useless today. On the laptop keeps telling me to login when I am already logged in. Can't watch or listen :-( Their 'live chat' haven't responded in over 30 minutes

Same for me - another example of ' new exciting improvements ' making things ten times fucking worse.

Blades Player was miles better - I'm totally pissed off.

This is bloody useless. Their live chat told me to "double check your details" and now hasn't responded for another 15 minutes. Terrible customer service. The app was working, but now is telling me to 'upgrade your account'

I wonder if we can complain to the club... The service is getting worse

They're actually pushing people towards illegal streams

2nd half has been atrocious today. As has the football.

My app kept failing every 5 minutes today, but when on it was a perfect stream

Even the regular radio comms kept cutting out for today and telling me I needed to upgrade. Logged out and then in again and resolved, but it wasn't good enough. This stuff should just work, especially for you kids who are paying 140 notes for the stream

What patronising bollocks. How can it be the ISP's fault when every other stream you watch from around the world is fine? They have an issue their end, and if it doesn't get sorted soon people are going to start requesting refunds.

Today I tried watching with both Chrome and Firefox on a netbook with W8.1 running. Chrome didn't work at all, Firefox was so stuttery it was virtually watchable, just like the other games I paid for. However, it worked perfectly when I tried it on my Android phone. So the next step is to look at casting to the TV or preferably use a cable

Note the TV picture vanished when I started streaming on the phone, which does imply it is restricted to one device.

Diabolical last night - In preparation and following the 'advice' from ifollow help, I restarted my modem, PC and cleared the cache in Chrome before the start of the match. Stream set to 'Auto' was running at 240p and STILL stuttering and stopping every 10 seconds or so. Did this throughout the first half and the majority of the second half. Late in the second half it did clear a little, periodically and the 'Auto' picture did improve to 540p or maybe 720p but the same '2nd half micro stutters' persisted as with all games thus far.

Last night was the first time I've regretted paying for the service and not just going for a freeby stream. Don't know if it's of any significance, but for the first time this season, the Audio Stream was actually slightly AHEAD of the Video Stream (I normally have to pause the video for around 12 seconds to sync the two)

Fingers crossed it's better for Saturday, otherwise it'll be fan cams for me from now on.

S'funny SUFC dont seem to be interested in this, seeing as the link to buy this service is on their Website

It would be good if SUFC monitored a feed from our Games back into the Lane for Quality purposes

Jurgen seems to have plenty of time on his hands .............

Mine worked well last night, annoying that the crowd noise and refs whistles are 2 seconds delayed but I was as far from the router as I could be at home and it worked well.

Same thoughts. Unexpected highlight for me last night: the very audible tones about 20 mins in of the "Programmes Three Quid" guy's march along the front of the South Stand.
