Junior playing Saturday afternoon, but a 2pm kick off, so it's my Live Score App for the notifications, and Forum Shoutbox for me.

And Junior likes to be updated from the sidelines!

And now, I am going to celebrate! :)

I'm in Hoi An, Vietnam and the game starts at 10pm. By then I'll have been up 14 hours here, counting the hours down in English time throughoutvthd day, 7 hours behind Sheffield here.

This is an idea for a thread for Blades away from Sheffield to communicate with each other. Maybe we will learn from each other on how to keep in touch with the game real time.

I'm relying on our forum and Foxy' s Facebook messages plus Flash Scores for other result updates. Will not even glance at Shoutbox. We'll be in our hotel room on WIFI, no other alternative. Prior to the game I'll check team news on the club website.

Let's share our experiences today without interference hopefully from those not in our situation.

SUFC is a big club, there are thousands following today's game all across the world.

Watching by the equivalent of teletext is some experience. The time added is agony if the game is in the balance. Fingers crossed!! UTB.
Thanks for boasting about your holiday.

Now what was it you wanted to know? Or didn't you?

I can only follow in strictly limited, timed doses of BBC football website as I've always found live commentaries too worrying to listen to -
"Bolton goalkeeper has the ball" .............................aaagh! Worry, worry, panic, panic..............
For last several hundred seasons, check all divisions in order (plus Scots prem), check Blades game and stats, check Div 2, return page to Prem div, switch phone off,
repeat, sometimes more frequent if we seem to be doing well.

Boring .

Full of self importance.

Arrogant .

Know All

Belittles other forum members .

Enjoy your holiday and leave the forum alone you founcer.

Not sure I'm a "know all":).

Don't bother with the heartfelt apology this time My Lord. Maybe you just had a touch of big game PMT.

Seriously I do not "belittle other forum members" unless they really upset me. I would never ever write a post like this one of yours.:( though I recently did liken someone to a' mosquito'!! That's as far as I go.

Cerberus. If anyone on here knew the extent of my travelling since 2013 when I joined this forum you would realise that I do not "boast" about things like that. We've been seriously travelling for 20 years now and nobody on here knew that. We've been to 47 places worldwide out of a bucket list of 50, how many have I "boasted" about? I do not regard a backpacking holiday in Vietnam as a showpiece brag believe me.Forums can be such silly petty places at times.

I normally listen to the commentary, but watched a fan's phone stream last weekend. Totally different experience to the commentary. Despite relaying the pics to a big TV I still couldn't see what the fuck was going on at all. The commentary didn't sinc with the video either. Saying that, the feed may have been more watchable if the owner of the phone was higher up - say, top of the south stand.

If anyone from the club is reading this, phone video isn't going to be a threat to your revenue. No fucker's going to pay for a feed of that quality.

Shocking - I accept that certain posters ( trolls by dictionary definition IMO ) draw me into talking about me more than the football at times. Actually I just want to talk football air my views, have my views knocked about a bit, learn or not, move on.

I will not involve with the posters I define as trolls ever again. Maybe you are one , I don't know you and can't recall why you should say what you said above.

When we are away I watch the BBC Score thing on TV (don't have Sky) and read the shoutbox on here.

Going off on a tangent a bit but here are a few rules that should be enforced on match day in terms of the shoutbox

1.. NEVER write "FFS" unless we have conceded because I always think it means we've let one in . If Billy misses a good chance put "should have scored there". NEVER write "FFS"

2.Anybody who puts "GOAL" when we haven't scored will be shot at dawn. Even if the "GOAL" post is followed by something like ".....For St Johnstone against Peterhead". Match day is no time for jokes.

3. Nobody is allowed to say "we've won this" if we are only a goal in front. People suffering from the "Keith Edwards syndrome" should be aware their affliction scares the shit out of everybody else

I tend to avoid the shout box on match days for that reason, plus the radio sheff comm is way behind. I do like Paddys chat room though, dog and all.

And yet the FB group has 3000+ members, and at times the live stream (which of course I wasnt watching) was being viewed by upwards of 200 people.

If thats how many people are willing to watch a shakey cam feed that drops everytime there is a stoppage in play (no criticism of the streamers here), imagine how many would be willing to watch a proper feed? There is a revenue stream available there if the club want to tap it.

The club can't tap that revenue stream because of the blackout rules. 3pm games on Saturdays can't be broadcast in the UK. Plus I think the rights are centrally managed.

But this is coming at some point. The only question is how. I suspect it will be like the "blackout" rules in US sport: you can only watch it in Sheffield if the game is a sell out. Otherwise you have to be a certain distance away to watch it.

I have watched those streams when I can't get to games. I'm well aware it's on an iPhone or whatever so I understand the image isn't HD and the signal isnt always great. So if I can understand it, I don't know why others can't. Constant complaints. I'm thankful I can see what I get to see.

Each to their own I guess.

I really like it but the amount of times I've told whoever I'm with that "United are losing" before saying "oh no hang on" because I've read "FFS" is making me look a right dick to be honest

OP - unless you go to every fucking game, you are not allowed to comment.

END OF.

Since when has the dictionary definition of a troll been "someone who suggests you spout self important nonsense" ?

Disagreeing with the OP is enough to earn you that label. Precious soul that he is.

I'm posting this from north Sheffield, just so everyone knows....

Woody a word of advice.

You've asked where people will be during the course of the game. Numerous Blades have taken the time to answer and yet every (I think) post that you have subsequently made have been only to those who criticise your original OP.

Ignore the critics and instead show an interest and engage with those who you've wanted to hear from.

If you don't then your critics are being proved correct.

It's good to see this continuing not to bother you.

AT ALL.

No. It's only fair.

Miss a match, any match, and your cards are marked.

Fail to go to games and your opinions count for

NOTHING

WWF had better watch out. People are taking score.

But it's your ability to rise above it and not think about it at all that I find most impressive.

Oh. I am okay. I'll live, don't worry.

It's just the precious souls who deem attendance and investment as correspondent with opinion value on some or other internet forum as significant who may have problems with WWFs absence. I am only warning him, see?

pommpey

And apropos-of-nothing blowhards. Whoda thunk it?

But rich for someone who is pretending the threads about the OP not attending a game so he can Don sackcloth, ashes and Desso materials to get back in the limelight as the victim rather than via praising something about the club.

Yes. Who wuda thunk it?

Well seeing as you've - for whatever reason known only to you :) - misunderstood any criticism of the OP as "missing games" ( are you wearing the hat ?) your opinion on comments can hardly be considered valid seeing as you don't seem to realise what's been said. Feel free to make it about you though.

No ... no ... no.

If you trace your finger under some of my more recent posts (and stop your lips moving as you read the more difficult words), you'll see I am forecasting us to be promoted. It certainly seems that way, do you reckon? Silly me, and my optimism.

I suppose that because I haven't been to a game this season, I'm not entitled to be so positive about United's chances of going up, and I am some sort of philistine. According to you, anyroad.

Good result on the Desso on Satdi though, eh? Money well spent!
