Incidentally, my brother, the policeman one, has a big White Rose on his arm with "Yorkshire" above it and "Sheffield United" under it, yet he attends around 8-10 matches per season due to working. Which one of us is the "proper Blade"? The one with the tattoo, or the one who goes to the matches?

I like to think I'm working class, and I'm proud to be. A quick look up suggests I don't meet the criteria, but when I meet people who like to tell me how middle class they are, I'm certain I'm not, and don't want to be one of them.

I've got the 100% Blade with the swords and year underneath, looks a bit shabby to be fair but I'm still proud of it.

Regards the class issue I think more people fall into the middle class bracket than they would like to think, (or admit) as defined by salary, life-style, house, car etc.........it's holding onto the working class values that keeps you grounded. Like the famous philosopher Gary Barlow said, "never forget where you've come here from"..................wise words
