I know their isn’t always room for sentiment but what I’d love is this:

Last home game, Blades already promoted. Into the last 5 minutes. Substitution, defender off, Jack O’Connell comes on. Billy walks over, shakes his hand and puts the Captain’s armband on him.

Yes you can ask for more than that which you are not in control of I.e. a goal or tackle but that alone with raptuous applause all round would be a fantastic send off to a guy who has never given up and really could have been one of the top 26 players come World Cup time. Such a pity. Would like for us to see him one last time if only for a few minutes of injury time to say goodbye.
