I fundamentally disagree with it. This has everything to do with the board. This is evidenced in the result and performance which has never happened in the best part of 250 games in all comps. It's either that or this aberration/anomaly just happened today via pure luck.
 
It’s obvious we needed more investment but based on loss of gate receipts etc could we afford spending on the team? Were we expecting additional money from the owner? Btw I don’t know the answers I’m trying to understand why CW was promised money and wasn’t given any or at least not enough (I got the impression that Berge’s money was advanced from this seasons budget although I could be wrong)

Sorry if I happen to hold the opinion that Wilder was a remarkable manager, and it was circumstances as much as anything that led to this season.

I can bleat on about transfer fees if that makes you happy

A loss is a loss, the manner of it is concerning, but taking into consideration the last 48-72 hours, it can put it into a little bit of perspective. The one question that I would like you and few others to answer is this CW was sacked, CW was forced out, etc comments.

Do you know that this correct and if so can you please state just what has actually happened?

Fine you think Wilders shit and needed sacking good for you. I disagree and feel I have to defend him as I find some of the abuse he is copping appalling and he's taken us on a ride I don't think any other manager would have given us.

What you want me to say yeah you're right. Well sorry

This result has been coming for a long time
I would have played Jags he was probably left out because of the pace in their side but at least he knows how to defend. The players gave minimum effort whether that is down to the loss of Wilder only they know
It reminded me of the game at MK Dons the day after Ched got sent down totally flat
If Wilder had still been here we would have still lost possibly by three or four
The players need to look at themselves, hopefully a week on the training ground with the new coaching staff will help. I bloody hope so

Or maybe CW was naively thinking that together with his constant moaning about being up against top, top players every weeks and using the tactics he used at a previous club (demanding whatever it was and wherever it was) would work against a very rich man from the Saudi royal family.

We probably all would have asked for the same thing if we were in his shoes, however, the Chinese have a proverb, "If the reed does not bend in the wind, it will break."

Tell me where I’ve said Wilder is shit. I’ve said several times l wanted him to stay and have another go next season. However I do think he has to shoulder some responsibility whereas you can do nothing other than blame the owner 100%.

Wilder is up there with John Harris as for as I’m concerned, but he’s struggled this season, that’s not abusing him, that’s a fact. I’ve seen allegations that he didn’t sign certain players who therefore must have been foisted on him. No one as far as I know has come up with that one before. Even if his signings were his second choices, they haven’t worked. His tactics haven’t worked and he hasn’t been able to get the best out of players like before. If all the success is down to him, not an unrealistic claim, then he has to shoulder some of the failure. It’s reminiscent of McCabe and his “luck” only in reverse. McCabe was fucking useless when it came to managers but when he appointed Wilder it was pure luck because some people were that entrenched in their views about him. No one on here knows the full, real story, so balance can go out of the window. I remember Bettis being Wilders man and badly wronged by McCabe. Now he’s a traitorous bastard.

You’ve had two and a half days of posting the same stuff, without once giving thought to any other possibility, instead choosing to discredit posters without even dividing them into anti Wilder or Whats just fucking happened groups. Yet you ask me what l’m on and tell me l “used to be okay”. No balance, not a lot more logic at times.

The reason CW is not here is because CW wanted to leave he’s tried resigning multiple times and bettis/Prince convinced him to stay multiple times

This lies solely at CW door 👍
 
Season of managing the clusterfuck of how we did.. manager leaves.. how much money have we (as a club) paid for him to resign?

This week in training Wilder and knill set the tactics, heckingbottom only came in last night so wilder and knill picked the team and the formation, seeing as knill is still here, heckingbottom is going to go with what wilder and knill put in place, this is exactly the team, formation and tactics wilder would have gone with, the very important difference in the scoreline today as opposed to what has gone before is all the team have seen their leader/mentor/inspiration leave a sinking ship and think, if hes fucked off what's the fucking point

What that has to do with the price of fish is beyond me? This has been an internal war for the best part of five years. They've gone for it now and forced him out. I hope they know what they're doing. I sincerely doubt it.

CW apparently was ready to jump ship on us after season 1 (gaining promotion from L1) for a team up north who had had an owner who he had previously worked for (a southern club) because of the money that they offered him and the last family owners son had to step in and stop it happening allegedly.

Wilder said if it looks like we down by January, he would tell the club to keep their money in their pocket.

Anyway I would argue Wilder much like Warnock seemed to perform better with less money not more money.

No he wasn't. He was a very highly paid professional football manager who happened to be a Sheffield United fan. As a fan he was part of the heart of the club, but he was a very long way from being THE heart. Sheffield United have existed for 132 years and for 127 of those Chris Wilder wasn't the manager.
We didn't lose 5-0 today because he left, we lost 5-0 because it's been coming for some time, and because of the manner of his leaving, which he has to take a lot of responsibility for, left HIS team up shit creek without a paddle.

All football clubs have had to manage Covid.
All football clubs have played without crowds.
All football managers have a budget, even those with very rich owners.
Sheffield United have made a much worse job of managing these issues this season than any other PL club, perhaps any other league club. Chris Wilder was the manager, and the responsibility for the results is his. The responsibility for buying the misfiring players lies with whoever wanted or authorised getting them - we may never know the answer to that one.

What isn't the answer is to give PH and whoever follows him a bad time because he and whoever else isn't Chris Wilder. He's gone and whatever happened between him and PA is done. He isn't Sheffield United. He's an ex-manager who happens to be a fan, and who gave us some good times.

He'd handed his resignation in during both Championship seasons due to broken promises and attempts to radically change the working environment. If I was him I'd have walked after Bristol City. Good luck to the next bloke working with these chancers. They've got no chance as they don't have the supporter behind them. Paul Daniels or Harry Potter would be a good appointment.
