Spot on. I would add that the ambition is always to play at the highest level possible, which means testing yourself against the best. Playing Villa and Wolves is playing the best this season, and we should celebrate the fact that we looked the better team v Villa ( though they have some better individual players), and hope that our players learn from playing against the highly talented, highly priced Wolves. I hated going 1 down v Wolves after 5 minutes, but the football fan in me admired the skill of Neves in scoring that goal. I hope Brooksy was watching, and that he will be spending time every day practising that sort of shot to perfect the talent which he has. You have to learn from he best, but it takes time and dedication.I'm sorry if some people don't like the phrase but at Adkins last match against Scunthorpe when the play was so bad and the atmosphere so poisonous if you had offered me within 12 months we would have won the league only losing 4 times, quite frankly I would have thought you were drugged up to the eyeballs
And thats why for me this season is great whatever happens now. We have beaten Wednesday and got so far ahead of them that they celebrate a 0-0 draw with us like they have won the Champions League, we have held our own against most clubs and we certainly aren't going to get relegated. We have a base to build on for the future and thats why when we lose at Wolves I get irritated but it doesn't ruin my weekends like losing at Crewe or Rochdale used to do
