Rip , no age to go. Once a blade always a blade, condolenses to his family and friends

Unremarkable player for us bur nonetheless RIP, far too young an age

Bloody hell, not heard that name in a while.

He was in starting XI for the second match I ever attended. A 2-1 home win v Portsmouth in 1998.

Two players from that game are no longer with us, the other one being Portsmouth goalkeeper Aaron Flahavan.

Sad and untimely news, RIP Ian.
Just looked up Flahavan as I remember the name, he was only 25 at the time of his death.

Always a sad occasion when we lose one of our former players, especially at such a young age.

RIP Ian and condolences to his family and friends.

I think he was signed by Steven Thompson, he tried hard but was in a poor team going backwards, in one of the difficult financial periods of the Blades

He was. To be fair, he was in a team that finished 6th that season and 8th the following season. I believe he played a few games in 99-00, but when Warnoxk became manager in December, he clearly didn't fancy him as he never started again and was released in summer 2000.

I assume that he had been ill, as his Former WBA team-mate Kevin Donovan posted online "I'm gonna miss you my friend but so glad I got a final few minutes with you."

55 is no age at all, far too young
R.I.P
