Sad news this morning of the death of former Blades player Ian Hamilton at the age of 55.
I'm having a bit of a mental block and don't actually remember him playing for us, but apparently he played for us between 1998 and 2000.

West Brom promotion-winner Ian Hamilton has died, aged 55
Popular former Albion midfielder Ian Hamilton has died aged 55, the club's former players' association have confirmed.www.expressandstar.com
The other player was Des Hamilton. Who was black so probably hard to confuse the 2!Yes I remember him, I think he was on loan the same time as a chap of the same name from Newcastle![]()
I might be wrong but chico Hamilton was 72 when he died a few years back. Apologies if I'm not correct.I remember Chico.
RIP lad.
I always associate him with Jonathan Hunt, who we had at the same time. Hunt was possibly the worst player ever to don the red and white. Made David Frain seen like Messi.
Ian ‘Chico’ Hamilton is still alive.I might be wrong but chico Hamilton was 72 when he died a few years back. Apologies if I'm not correct.
I was about to post that he was (sadly) quite an uninfluential midfielder for us - then you mentioned Johnathon Hunt, and reset the boundaries!I remember Hunt once went clean through on goal and just before he got to the edge of the penalty area he turned round and starting heading towards the half way line, before losing the ball.
Ian ‘Chico’ Hamilton is still alive.
The way I remember it was that he came in around that time with big expectations because of how well liked he was at WBA. Then the club was clearly falling apart and he was a downgrade on the team of just a few months before, which obviously means a lot of fans blamed him personally for that and gave him stick. He got dog's abuse for the time he played here. Played a big part in the season we sold Deane and Fjortoft. I vividly remember getting back on the coach after the second leg defeat at the SoL and there being multiple people threatening him with violence if they saw him.
He was a bog standard second division player of the time. Not great, not horrible. Just there.
Very well liked at West Brom and by all accounts a really good bloke. RIP
