Those three.

We will probably have a 5 minute live slot in between countryfile and doctor poo.....

The recent Scottish league cup semi finals were both played on the same day in the same city, one at Murrayfield (1330) and one at Hampden (1630).

I would imagine that doing similar in Sheffield would be a viable option with very low attendances expected, the cumulative attendance for the day would surely be less than what we got for Leeds.

FFS you're right... I hadn't twigged when i checked the final decision that they took for it. The original plan was to play both in the same city
I've always assumed Hampden was Edinburgh. Guess expecting the national team would play in the capital. Actually on reflection despite being told the opposite on numerous occasions. Shows how your prejudices can play tricks on you.

The original plan was even dafter. Both games were to be played on the same day at the same venue (Hampden, Glasgow). Aside from the fact that Aberdeen were in the later kick off and had the longest journey, all the clubs objected, the Scottish PFA objected and Strathclyde Police said it was stupid.

It is impossible to imagine how SYP would have reacted to 40,000 Gers, 40,000 Bhoys and another 25,000 each Dons and Hearts fans wandering around the city.
They'd be fine, as they would be if they policed Euro and World Cup games fondly imagined by the Rust Bucket Massive. It's only when they have to manage an enormous 22000ish Blades that a meltdown situation occurs!

SYP ...Let's make this a high risk game...it's an M1/M25 Derby afterall...better move it to Sunday for overtime..Get Durham Constabulary on the phone..no don't tell them what's going off,we're in charge...don't forget the Steel walls.
Don't worry about the Hillsborough game, they are only playing Luton...can't see a problem there.

FA Cup 4th Round - 25th January 1986
Sheffield Wednesday 5 Orient 0
Sheffield United 0 Derby 1

Possibly last time clubs played at home on same day?
I seem to remember when we beat Villa 3-0 I think in the cup and Andy Liddell got a couple I believe pigs were at home same day. We were on tv though and lunch time kick off. Might have imagined it though. I can’t remember the year.

We won 3-1.

Gareth Barry scored for Villa.

As any poor sod who exited from the John Street stand after the derby can confirm the chuffs have quite a number of steel walls and they're not afraid to use them.

And in fairness, our game against that lot will be as nothing compared to when the Barnet Posse ride into town. I'm expecting a ring of steel backed up with helicopters and riot police, imagine Paris but lively.

It's the Barnet ultras flag day for the season, Sheffield beware.

We might even be the Monday night game. BT Sport had the Fleetwood game on Monday night after the draw and of course Barnet are non league which they cover.

Look forward to the 30 seconds of highlights Sunday night though :D

That's correct. I remember back in the 1960's when both were drawn at home to FA Cup opponents.

So who got moved last. As i cant rememer well. I remember we leyton orient on sunday when we won 6-0. But i dont think wednesday were in cup yet then

Wednesday should have had the choice because they threw a double six to start. However they landed on “miss a turn” and the advantage became ours.

If we are both drawn at home Then it’s easy. Different kick off times.

Or “ rock, paper, scissors”.

I thought different kick off times 1 lunchtime & 1 evening. But i think stewarding stops that as i have bit of knowledge not much, as my dad has done it at the lane predating premier league & my sister has for about a decade

as i think they have to be at ground 3hrs before kick off then stay an hourish after the game & travel time is unrealistic. As if 1 of us kicks off at midday ends 1:50pm. Stewards finish 2.45pm. Travel across city to the other ground about 3:45pm means a probale kick off of 7pm

Or “ rock, paper, scissors”.

But only if youve forgotten a coin ;)

Sorry to see that Troy Deeney's hearing isn't so good these days. I put it down to these young 'uns going around with headphones on all the time, listening to loud music. It really grates on my nerves to see it. I said to my own son the other day, "Don't be going around with headphones on, listening to loud music! If you really must listen to loud music, get yourself down t' Virgin store at Moorfoot and get them to slip an LP on 't turntable for yer, whilst yer sit in 't Recaro seats and listen to it". He just looked at me puzzled - I don't think he could hear me because he'd got his headphones on.
