I remember watching Blackburn beating Man U 3-2 at Old Trafford on New Years Eve 2011 on TV: I vividly remember Slew coming on as an 89th minute sub as part of Rovers' attempts to run the clock down.

That proved to be his only league appearance for Blackburn.

Started playing for Frecheville Community. I saw him in his early days. A legend at Blackburn Rovers. Was part of Daglish's coaching team when they won the EPL in 1995 with Shearer and Sutton. Stepped in many times to act as Caretaker Manager. Sadly diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2020.
