The old buggers will remember this!
I wish we'd play this as we used to do in the 70's....the words sum it up and may stand us in good stead this season.
Aim for the stars but expect a little rain! This song still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.....10 year old stood on the Kop!
Sod objectivityMaybe but it's in the hearts and minds of many older Blades and as I say raises those hairs for me!
Thanks for the compliment... though my singing voice is terrible. Blayden Races was less and less to be heard as the game went on.Went to Newcastle 1961 6th round FA cup, there was a mix up with our tickets and we were on their kop !!!! we won 3-1 Billy Russel got all 3.. All the Blades fans were on our left and they sang Ilkley moor all the way through it, it sounded bloody grand...….
Apart from the stand seats, it was pay on the gate as I remember. That`s why there were plenty of Blades behind both goals. The ones in the seats, above the side terrace standing area, were sing Ilkley Moor for much of the second half.Went to Newcastle 1961 6th round FA cup, there was a mix up with our tickets and we were on their kop !!!! we won 3-1 Billy Russel got all 3..
