Understand folk moaning about Lundstram. He’s trying to replace the best midfielder we have had for 40 years. So obviously people will compare. But give the guy a break he was easy 7 out of 10 today, a few misplaced passes but come on get real he was good - he is good.

But what I can’t fathom is people saying detrimental things regarding Duffy, unacceptable completely this is the most entertaining player i’ve seen at the Lane for years and years he is fantastic -simple class. I love watching him - he is sooooo skilfull. Moan at him and you are either thick or have no idea about football.

Wilder has brought us the best brand of football in 4 decades- thanks Chris don’t let idiots derail you whatsoever.

1 point from 6 in last 2 matches but the entertainment 10/10. No complaints whatsoever.

This team is fantastic.

The people whining about lundstrum are Amosa certainly the same ones 2 years ago were shouting to tar and feather coutts and send him out of the lane on a rail, and the ones that said and yes still saying billy is crap , to you people I say get a grip, it's taken a long time and a lot of training time for us to have the best midfield I've seen well in my time watching the Blades, over 40 years.
Coutts, fleck, Duffy, sammŷ, brooks lundstrum bash, yes it may take while for them to gel without coutts but I've seen enough to know they most certainly will.
We had a much worse start to last season yet remind me again how that ended?
A few games where we havnt dominated completely in a much higher league and people are bleating about we have been Sussed and our bubble has burst, Jesus I'd have settled for 21st in the championship before a ball was kicked, let wilder and the boys sort it, support them and let's see where we are come Jan 1st, if we aren't in the relegation places then we can push on.

Cap doffed young man.....

Lundstram has already been singled out as the scapegoat by a few posters. It won’t matter how well he plays, they won’t allow themselves to see it.

Not a scapegoat. He simply isn't good enough at the moment. Then again, Brooks has a lot to learn which is why he doesn't play from the start, Billy was off his game tonight and Carruthers disappointed me by making some horrendous decisions. Any Sammy haters would have had a field day.

Lundstram receives the ball, but doesn't turn and look. He gives it back. He gets it again and gives it back or goes back. If on the front foot he gives, but doesn't go for the return. It's almost like he has been brought up in a flat middle four and is playing the holding position. However, that is not the Coutts position who operates as quarterback or "water carrier" moving forward. Ludo "gets in the way " in midfield because he hasn't moved forward into the hole for the return, he's ended up square and then moves back to receive the ball. It slows things down. He also misplaces passes as noted by most on here. Where he improved in the second half was when he played what I believe was his natural game which is as CW said on interview, "ticking over and moving the ball on". Getting in the right place to recycle and keeping the attack going rather than being creative is his game.

That's just my opinion. Other's may think he's the best thing since sliced bread. I thought Enda was MOM tonight, probably makes me a minority of one!

Best midfielder for 40 years? He's good but not that good, Hodges/Gannon/Whitehouse/McCall/Cowans/Brown/Tonge?

agree to a certain extent but i saw signs he's getting the hang of it. we have to be patient

I know it’s an easy argument to make, so I don’t really like doing it but Wilder obviously disagrees and his opinion was that he played well against Fulham (I’ve not heard any comments from him about Lundstram’s performance today).

Lundstram tonight was I thought excellent. Seemed to have the ball every 3rd or 4th touch. Did well. I thought the whole team was excellent tbf.
We are a victim of our own success here ,
expectation has gone through the roof.
I thought this season would be a free hit but alas our performance s have been that good ,we have made a rod for our backs as some fans now. are being totally unrealistic be leaving teams are going to be put to the sword every week .
Time for a reality check ! we have one of the lowest budgets in the division so we are punching above our weight,we need to calm down a bit we have a squad that's going places but heaping pressure on them now will only make it tougher.
One of the reasons the pigs are finding life difficult is the expectancy level there went up dramatically on the back of two near misses in the play offs.
We have a great chance of automatic or a shot at the play offs but some fans need to
look at how far we've come in 18months and temper there expectancy level.
Wilder is working miracles and. given the opportunity to strengthen in January.
As one or two posters have said making Lunnie a scapegoat will make things tougher he's not a Coutts who cannot totally be replaced ,we have to find a slightly different way of playing and it takes time to adjust,it's coming along
we will get there but a bit of patience and a lowering of the expectancy level is needed.
The free hit I was talking about earlier seems to be succeeded by the expectancy level rising quickly in doing so the pressure goes up accordingly, will we be able to live with that? a difficult one to answer.
Having scapegoats definitely doesn't ,we all have someone nearby who takes this view. What if we had a word with them and told them to shut up and get behind the team and not to pick on individuals who are giving there best.
The last two home games have been frustrating but let's not lose sight of where we are, with all to play for.
Sorry if this post is a bit incoherent, had a few bevvies today and not at my best.
;Come on you blades.,

The lad's obviously talented, and he needs time to settle into this role and build his understanding with the rest of the team. He made quite a few mistakes today, usually from trying to do something too clever, but he was far more good than bad.

We need a reality check here dont we
Birmingham paid us the compliment of mirroring our system to try and stop us playing and for 90 percent of the game we played them off the park

They spent more in this transfer window than we probably ever have as a club so let's give the boys a break but for a screamer that should have been closed down and a bit of panicky play in the final third we were very good last night

If rather we carry on as we are than change to suit other teams we've come so far let's not all lose our shit at the first bump in the road

great post .. a lot of people have forgotten that if at the start you'd have said we could be third by now they'd have ripped your arm off

Lundstram will come good and Wilder will stick with him , but it will take time , give it 2 to 3 more matches and we will be back in the grove , TBH if the last 2 matches was us playing bad then we have no problems Wolves look the run away club this season and we need to battle it out for 2nd or a play-off spot , lets hope Forrest can win or draw with Cardiff this afternoon .

we are just 4 games from the seasons half way point and we are on 37 from 19
, just 1 point off 2 per game, win our next we are back there

thats as good as we could have wished for in august when some believed the owls propaganda that we were joining la Liga and would get our ass whoopped every game

we have lost 6, 5 by the odd goal only cardiff had a 2 goal win
Id say thats competing , yet theres the odd numbskull still saying we still could go down
thats only possible if we get points docked , around 20 or more

My brief says where's there's blame theres a claim. I'm suing you you for my split sides Gannon?

I take it your not happy ?
I just think there are people on here almost desperate for us to fall away so they can start moaning and complaining. They are also desperate to find a scapegoat for their ire to be aimed at. The lad has barely started any games, is yet to settle into the team style but in my opinion (and others I have discussed with) has gradually looked better game after game.
I’m not a clapper and have been a Blade long enough to know that things may fall away but there’s people on here like private Fraser from Dad’s Army - “We’re all doomed!”

I’m beginning to think this is a Sheffield mindset, never mind glass half empty some of them can’t even see the fucking glass!

Rant over :)
