like that call, hogan's pace and getting on the shoulder of the last man with didsy and duffy with the creativity, i like what madine has given us but this is what i would have gone with today

Not disputing the facts of your post NC, and I completely agree that it will be a tough game: Hull are in great form (especially at home, as you point out) and I'm not overly confident myself.

I think the difference between you an me is the confidence in which you state your opinions. In your original post, you say "We will lose, and the result will be in line with the stats" rather than "based on the stats, I think we'll lose."

In addition, while the stats you post are certainly valid, they don't tell the whole story. You mentioned Hull's fantastic home form, yet omitted the fact that our away record is equally impressive, especially when you consider the quality of the opposition.
Put it this way, the last time Hull played anyone in the top 6 at home was in November.

You're obviously free to post what you want, and I'm certainly no authority, I just felt obliged to challenge your post as it seemed unduly negative, and a reccuring theme - at least in my perception.

UTB mate, anyway.:)

How did them there stats fare in the Leeds v Wigan game?

Midfield is key today, they have a very lively and attacking line up with Grosicki, Bowen, Irvine and Pugh.

Banter that Long is in net, werid this season

There's something about Duffy right now.

Has the look of someone who isn't going to let this chance slip through his fingers now he has his spot back.

Worked his way up from lower leagues.

I have a strange feeling he'll make his mark on this one. No pun intended!

You certainly know your onions, Snowman, I'll give you that.

Hull City are one of, if not 'the' team you don't want to play at this time of the season, at their ground.

They are unbeaten in the last 12 home games, winning 9 and drawing 3. During this run, they have scored 29 goals and conceded 9, at a goals per game average of 3.2 and an average result of 2.4 - 0.8. As Shakira prophetically said, "stats don't lie". We will lose, and the result will be in line with the stats and we will then pray that Brentford do us a favour.

If I were Brentford, having read the historical mockery & dissing on here from the likes of Pinchy, I would be reluctant to break a sweat.
How many top 6 sides have they played during that run? One.
Stats don’t lie, but you have to have context as without them you’re only showing half the picture.

I drove past Adkins Road today.

Thought it could be a sign. A sign of what I do not know. A sign I’d gone the wrong way was my first thought
I went past Cresswell Rd on a bus going up to Goodison Park for a LC game 2011 ish , so I put a tenner on the aforementioned to score the first goal at 12/1. He duly obliged.
Arteta and Fellaini then woke up and the next time we touched it was 3-1.

I left at half time and went down Mathew Street for a few pints.

Cool story even if I say so mesen....

Yep, OK. You've said. Well done for being ITK on this.

In this case, we're taking a risk. It's a gamble starting Hogan. He's done next to nothing so far and his inclusion seems more hopeful than anything.

Hogan and McGoldrick is a good partnership on paper but will the game suit him, and will we give him the right service?

Hull have to go for 3 points so hopefully there'll be space for him and Dowell.
Totally disagree with your view on Hogan doing next to nothing. His movement and runs are better than anyone else we have on the books, we just don’t make the most of them and get him the ball.
The final paragraph is bang on the money for me though. Are we going to give him the service? Are we going to attack aggressively or look to play it safe and retain possession?
If we allow the centre half to push on, and the full backs and look for his runs in behind, or McGoldrick/Duffy/Fleck take advantage of the space his creates he could be a huge player for us in the last 3 games.

Hogan makes a lot of good runs if you watch him closely mainly down the channels and in behind.. we just aren’t finding him atm

big game, this is potenially the 2nd big hurdle because beat hull & yes Ipswich wont be as straight forward as we think. because on tv some players want to put themselves in shop window. but you would assume we would take 3pts as since the reverse fixture theyve won 1 in all competitions & that was on 12th january so worst case is just having to match leeds on final day to get promotion. although whenever i say that then my legs go a bit wobbly

also the irony that we face nigel adkins in the run in & he did his best to hinder our promotion hopes he was in charge of us, nevermind hull. & you know george long going to have game of his life

I know Hogan makes good runs, but in this team they amount to..... next to nothing.

I didn’t think Hogan did enough when he was on against Forest. Had McGoldrick gone for him rather than Stevens it would have been disallowed for offside as Hogan (as seemed to be the case from my view looking across) kept drifting offside during attacks 2nd half.

That said, a huge opportunity today for him to stake a claim to be left in the rest of the season. I hope he takes it.

Good team selection IMO . Got a good feeling about this one .

Come on Blades , make us ' appeh .

tbf he is the original ;)

Surely topplayersleave has something to say about that?

Give it time, it takes a while to for players to get used to eachother's games.

He's only made 3 starts (one of which he was hauled off at HT thanks to Madine's sending off) and already has a first goal, I have faith that he'll be a successful signing as our other players get used to his game.

I agree I think he will come good with more game time and understanding. But surely if I was him, in training and during the game I would be having a word with Duffy, fleck, Norwood etc and be saying come on lads spin a few balls in behind for me. Even if it's just for 10 minutes. It would allow those 3 players more time and space because Hull would drop deeper and it would give them something different to think about. Whether he has the confidence and whether CWAK allow players to make informed decisions on the pitch is a different story that I don't know the answer too.
