Great result after a nightmare start. What do points make? Prizes! (Ask your grandma)

CONS
That first goal. Chong gives the ball away, falls down and they break away and score. Unchallenged run and cross, unmarked man in the middle and an absolutely awful goal to gift a team who had no confidence and the worst possible start.
Second goal was worse than the first. We dollied a header, stood like statues and watched them walk it in. A truly terrible goal to give away and it's game on again.
First 15 minutes we were second best and looking clueless. As a team you can't start games that poorly, God knows what they do in the homo erotic huddle, maybe talk about how nice Sydies hair is, or how happy they are in the shiny kit but starting that slow is unacceptable.
Last 15 minutes, similar to the first where we gave the ball away, panicked and gave them confidence to come at us.
Referee missed another penalty first half again, not quite as clear cut as the one at the weekend but the lad took Donovan out without touching the ball. Sorry, that's a penalty you fucking clown.

PROS
An away win, no matter who it's against I'll take it. We made it harder than we should have but a win's a win.
Cooper couldn't do anything with the goals but apart from that he was excellent. His calm demeanor and the way he owned the 6 yard box was a joy to watch.
Sydie effing Peck. I sing this lads praises a lot. I like his attitude, his cockiness and his ability to play football. The game was his tonight, he covered every blade of grass again, he got the foot in when he needed to and his goals were top class. Third was a tap in but the ground he covered to get on the end of the excellent cross from Donovan was very impressive.

As to the game it was messier than it should have been. We had very good spells where we could have scored more and at other times we couldn't control the football or do the basics. I don't care tonight, it's a deserved three points and I'll happily take that.

For the first goal Choudhary was miles away as Preston had two men down the right in their first foray forward, and it ended up dragging Tanganga right out of position.

They nearly picked us off down that side a couple of more times too.

Choudhury and Chong down the right doesn't work. Was delighted to see Seriki coming on but was poor when moved to RB after looking good on the wing. Good 3 points.

Yep Chong fucked up to start the move, Choudhary did his usual which is a mystery to me and Tanganga is left in no mans land. In the middle, Sydie and BBD didn't track back and it was a simple finish.

It was similar to the 24/25 when Rak Sahki didn’t seem to want to do the defensive side of his job and sold a succession of RBs short

For our winner I thought that their keeper neshed the gather. Fantastic first time cross by Donavan though

Can I be really picky? Tanganga is overrated. Just my observation.
I'm absolutely shocked you think a Selles signing is overrated. Shocked I tell you.

He has the worst right back in the championship next to him (I say next to him but Choudhury is rarely in position), which is obviously going to cause him problems when the entire right hand side is missing

Cons: Slow start. Mcguinness and Tanganga are both a poor partnership and questionable individually. Mcguinness in particular. Exploiting this was Preston's best chance of a result.

Should've gone 4 and 5 in the spell between around 20-65 minutes. We were profligate which meant we were hanging on and unable to hook players earlier.

Injuries, fatigue and suspensions are starting to bite. The drop off at starting centre back and in terms of the bench players was too big. We need those unavailable players back asap

Seriki was poor when he came on. Has looked off it since injury

Pros:

Dominant for a large part of the match and should've scored more goals

Peck was outstanding. Jairo did well considering he's been out of the team and pretty poor when he has contributed this season. Good minutes in his legs.

Burrows, Donovan, BBD very good until they tired. Arblaster decent off the bench.

That may have been Chong's best game for the club.

They were better than I thought they'd be. Attacked in numbers at times but lack quality.

What has to happen for us to be given a pen? 🤣

Pecks charisma and self belief is huge for this team. Both him and Donovan have that personality that makes even older players want to get on board when they are playing well.

I think he'll play 50+ PL matches

Agreed up to a point, but I've noticed he's forging a partnership with kitching . He's not played with mcguiness for a while, the best centre half partnerships are based on playing together regularly.
We are short of creativity and a striker cannon or ayew are not the answer.
I'm not up on our youngsters so hopefully someone can help if there's anyone who could play 10 or right wing ( our rhs looked woeful tonight)

Perhaps I’m splitting hairs but I’d add dropping Femi to RB in the cons.

He was doing really well on the wing, giving us another outlet and giving them something to think about. We lost that when he was dropped back.
I think he'd already clumsily given away one foul playing RM, then did similar another few times at RB. The idea that he shouldn't be played in his actual position is weird though.
