Entertaining game that, pretty much controlled by us from start to finish. Souza looks comfortable sitting in front of the centre halves but I want to see him when things aren't going so well. If he rolls his sleeves up fine, I just hope he doesn't go missing.

Arblaster was tidy, Seriki looked strong, Anel more comfortable with slower attackers coming at him but we do look disorganised at the back.

O'Hare reminds me of Illi, but picks a pass better. Burrows was good, confident and very unlucky with those shots. Brewster and Brooks were disappointing for me but for a friendly it was fine.

How the fuck are we in this position with the lack of squad depth a week out from the season starting?

How the fuck are we still stockpiling injuries at the rate of knots when Wilder was going to fix this?

The biggest rebuild in our recent history Wilder said, well where is it?

We are in exactly the same position as last year, Champ is obviously more forgiving than the Prem but we start -2 pts, we need an influx of quality next week, we can't afford a bad start.

Souza and Ahmedhodhic aren't playing for a clean slate, that is the problem... I feel they are more likely playing for the door! And as we have seen, the door will open as soon as valuations are met.

Things need to happen because there is a strong chance that we are going to see players leave in the 11th hour without suitable relacements again and this squad can't cope with that.
It's got a repeat of the Illiman and Sander situation written all over it

I thought Brooks was ok, Brewster though - shite

The answer is down to the wanker who owns us and makes all the financial decisions

When O'Hare was hacked down in the 2nd half, who went steaming in? From the other end of the pitch I thought it was Souza and thought it showed good team spirit or maybe a bit unnecessary in a friendly - the challenge as well I hasten to add

Aliens.

I have a work colleague who lives in Rossington & rarely misses an Aberdeen or Scotland match home & away. At home he has a man cave with THREE big screen TVs so he can watch 3 games at once. It also houses his collection of around 700 shirts.

Believe it or not, he is married.
I believe his wife is having an affair.

I thought we looked like we were warming up nicely at Chesterfield and Harrogate. Missed Rotherham and first half tonight. Second half, I genuinely thought we looked exciting at times, to mirror the first two games (albeit against weaker opposition). I'm hoping we're going to sign a decent striker looking to rebuild a flagging career and Cooper from Plymouth. Souza seems to have been popular with mischievous hacks looking for space to fill (did he REALLY say we cost him a World Cup place, being crap last season? I just can't see it).
Anel made a tackle worthy of his "hero" period. I've been reading for months on here that he wasn't bothered, sulked about not getting a big move, was crap last season etc etc but I just never saw it myself. He was 1 of 11 that lost by 4/5/8 several times last season. No more, no less to blame than Grbic, West, JLT, (definitely less IMHO than my own whipping boy) Trusty. We were just poor with no idea how to fix it and paid the price. But for a big gawky bloke with a new baby and a bout of glandular fever draining his energy, and the gaunt, sometimes embarrassed face we saw during matchday, I just think it's rotten all the stick he gets for a season that made the Don Givens Memorial season feel like we'd done the domestic treble, and sweeping assumptions about his ability and attitude, often read by his superman Dad, are a bit OTT.

We might just surprise ourselves this season, with the shining prospects of the young lads performances, if we just get a couple more in, in the right areas.

UTB

First half I thought we were a bit slow and ponderous in the main, and seemed to be passing backwards a fair bit. Second half we were much improved and should have scored more.

I’m assuming that is just a clip released by the club and there is a longer interview where the reporter actually asks some questions the fans want answers to.

‘Is Osula on the way out Chris?’
‘Is hoover on the way in Chris?’
‘How many players do you expect will be coming in before now and the start of the season / end of the window Chris?’
‘Have the club received any bids for any other players Chris?’

Instead of the weak as piss ‘I’m guessing the excitement is building for next week’

Get the impression jurnos are told if you ask any of those questioned it’ll be last interview your station gets.

We can afford a bad start as we are not(hopefully) trying to go up this season, but are building for the next one.
If we can get the right players in late August then that’s fine.

After our first 2 games 0 points still on minus 2 bad start ?

You need to listen to the radio Sheffield interview……questions are asked about Osula, Houver and Dozell……and the lack of numbers in the squad
