are they just trying to put something about the credit crunch on any old story now?

Interesting, especially when you consider that Arsenal have just taken a massive gamble by shelling out a £15 million fee and reported 80k a week wages on a player when they are in real danger of missing out on a champions league place.

Of course this player could be the catalyst to fire their club back into the champions league; one could say that Arsenal have taken the kind of gamble which we could have taken with Beattie.
