How much is enough?

Why not wander to the Morrfoot with Les to see your old mate Hitch?

I cannot hack the pressure. I'll be tekkin the dog for a long walk on Sat-di. I plan to set off around 2:45 and return at 7pm. I will stop for a tuasted teacake at aboout half 4 ish and then might call in to savour a couple of halves of fine real ale in the Market Tavern in Elsecar (Dingle land). Phone will be off the whole time. Hopefully I'll have a few messages telling me that we've been promoted (or at least we're still second going into the last game) and that I should pack my swimming trunks for Exeter. Nope, I am saving the NHS the money I would need for a pacemaker, if I go to this game (and listen to Wednesday win beforehand). Enjoy the game you lot. And it is real ale all the way!

I'll be stepping out of the house about 4:00 pm, and not returning to the wee hours. Won't be at the game, but if we do go up, you'll probably hear the roar from the George tavern back in Sheffield..

After many years of mixing football and beer I've determined the optimum number of pints before the match is 5 (6 if it's bitter or weak lager). This allows you to relax, enjoy the game without getting too mardy if things are not going to plan and not be disappearing to the bog during the game.

UTB.

I break the seal 2.5 pints in. I blame my genes, and hence my parents.

I can confidently say that I wouldn't remember the details of the game (i'd remember I was there, and perhaps the goals) if I had 5 or 6 pints beforehand...

...whether I could get SUFC arrested for subjecting me to the game due to me not remembering, is another matter entirely...

All I remember from Wembley and Cardiff was that I was there. I did have lots of people who Id never met coming up to me for weeks after Cardiff though laughing saying your that guy from cardiff so I think whatever I was doing was more memorable than the actual football, well to other people anyway

Despite having 5 or 6 pints before Cardiff, which was 9 years ago when my tolerance was much much better, I do remember most of Cardiff.

But then that first half probably would have sobered anyone up...

Serious question. Why pay a load of money to see our biggest game of the season and then get so pissed that you can't remember any of it?

Admittedly, you were probably better off not remembering anything of these particular two games, but you didn't know that at the time and would you not have been in a bit fed up if we had pulled off great victories?

Its best to not remember any journey to Wembley as its in the middle of a crap hole.

I remember seeing a man, and it may have been Ted, doing a stirling job at half time of preventing the entire Millenium Stadium from collapsing.

Either that, or he was pissed and couldn`t walk...

I have to say, i usually prefer the day out to the actual game itself, whether that's at wembley or wycombe.

So why not just go to some random town and get pissed and save yourself the price of the match ticket :-)

I know what your saying, I can remember Wembley V the Pigs and most of it V Palace maybe thats why I've taken to having a few too many before the big games. I dont think I intended to get so smashed at them I think it starts of as a bit of an over excited and far too nervouse thing and then couple that with several hours of public transport with nothing else to do except booze and get even more excited and then I just get too carried away.

Also as the others have said its more about the whole day out too. I might not be able to remember the actual games but really enjoy the build up to them and Im still doing my bit to support the team by singing throughout, or maybe in sporadic periods followed by 10 minutes of sitting watching the roof of the stadium spin. Also the awful trip home flys by.

As for holding up the millenium stadium, well that could well of been me but most of the comments off people were about what I was doing in and around McDonalds (cue comments about Ched) ;)

haha, yeah Im an avid reader, this ones my favourite! :)

I will be trying hard to sleep through the pigs game and wake up in time to watch the Blades on tv. I've been unable to sleep past 7am every saturday we play now; I wake up automatically then reach for my phone and start endlessly refreshing the @s24su twitter feed.

I was in the bad books last week for waking my prengant wife by shouting: "F______ C____!" when the pigs scored their winner. She was not happy.
