We had the 2nd highest average away following in the league last season.

Boro were top with 2,260. Ours was 2,257.

We were top of the away charts all season except after the final day.
Boro only pipped us because on the final day they played Preston NE who have one of the biggest away ends in the league
and allowed them to sell 6,000 away tickets.

Worked out well

The Northenness of the division may help us to maintain those numbers, but I can't for the life of me understand the general reluctance of clubs not to adopt twentys plenty given the economic climate.

Exactly - how many away games didn't sell out?
Our actual support , getting behind the boys singing etc is quality, nobody can say any different but with our numbers at home we now get I’d have thought we would be taking more numbers away. Noise wise away we are great As for not selling out there’s been a few I’ve been to what haven’t sold out. But we can’t grumble cos we are better than the majority

They gave us 5,500. Granted it was a midweek game in the end, but would we have taken 5.5k on boxing day, or any standard Saturday?

No, not them lot, us !!
Tongue in cheek obviously, but I'm getting excited by the prospects of next season.

Anel - sounds like we have a real bargain, a top, top player on our hands.
Doyle - likewise. Offers competition in midfield and this can only be good for Fleck and Norwood who have, at times become very complacent.
Brewster - looking very sharp in the training videos. He had started to come good when Hecky came in and unfortunately got injured. 20+ for him this season.
Berge - as with Brewster, he flourished under Hecky - need to hold off bids if any come.
Davis - would be a great signing if we get him. Brewster & him could form a formidable partnership - Kabba and Shipperley
Clark - another astute signing if it comes off. Can't see him pushing Egan or Basham out of the team, but a very good player to offer competition and cover at the back

UTB !
No mention of Coulibaly Matt..........

Boxing day unlikely due to trains. But any random Saturday yes as its the early bar to Blackpool 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

It will be a tough slog of a season that's why we need a strong squad not just the first 11.

If we can remain injury free* then there's no reason why we shouldn't be too 6.

*Footballing god's wants you to hold their pint.

Sorry, but I am no onboard the HMS piss the league shit.
Take one game at a time, let's not start getting too big headed and end up looking like first class tits.
Politest term I could use.

If the Preston away game had gone ahead chrimbo we’d have topped it .. was still a good turn out for the night game ., me been one 👍

There's a Preston fan on YouTube (BenHD) and a few week back he gave a rating to the best fans that have visited Deepdale last season.

He says we took 2,800 to their ground but explains this was a re-arranged match played in mid week, so in that context he was impressed.
He said we were the loudest fans to come to his ground at that point.

Right at the end of the video he explains that Sheff United were the BEST away fans to come to his ground
but on the last match of the season Middlesboro fans topped them and were comfortably the best fans at their ground.

He said Boro took 5,600 to Deepdale and made non stop noise, even when they were losing they were still noisy.

We would have taken more than we did midweek and thus, would have been top, seeing as we were 3 people off.
