BTW.. they didn't sell out today..empty seats at the kick off all over the ground..

Fake news!
At least 60k in there today, and if Wilder hadn't been such a classless scumbag and allowed us to fluke a win, there would have been 70k there.

Possibly more.

Probably more.

Definitely more, plus the tens of thousands locked out at QPR.

Is there any reason why Wednesday fans didn't make any noise whatsoever today? One of the worst home atmospheres I can remember for a Sheffield derby.
It was shocking. Tbf it is usually decent there, but I was so surprised how quiet they were.

I was actually shocked at how fucking awful their ground is these days. It's in a terrible state. Empty rusty corners and complete lack of uplift investment in what, 20 years? And don't get me started on the pitch.

To say it used to host FA Cup semi finals 25 years ago it's a sad state of affairs.

As wilder said in his post match, we have a better ground. They may beat us on capacity but it's an absolute shit hole.

Didn’t see much bouncing yesterday

Then again, I only saw them bouncing for 90 seconds when we put 4 past them not too long ago

Not sure where to post this, so I’ll do it here. But the match day experience there is absolutely horrific.

As usual, the police made a balls up with the trams. Stuck near Hillsborough barracks for ten minutes plus, on a packed tram. Eventually someone pulls the emergency lever and everyone piles off. All the police disappear. Head towards Hillsborough corner and see hundreds of pig fans blocking the route - why, knowing that trams would be coming, do the police never clear this now? It was never an issue years ago. The pigs get a nice escort to the lane, we just get dumped off.

Anyway, we swerved that and walked around towards Penistone Road and through the park. Utter chaos again. The police created a small escort, which we avoided, of Blades who were just acting as sitting ducks really for shit being thrown at them.

After the game, the same nonchalant approach to policing exiting the away end. Again, I don’t remember it being as bad. Tried to get the tram - no chance getting close, so ended up getting a taxi which took about 40 minutes to town.

I’m really glad we’re in town and you can just walk it anywhere afterwards. It’s horrible down there, not just for the football, but it was as a shit show when it was the Arctic Monkeys and getting in/out of the dump.

Had an Owls supporting colleague asking why we didn't sell out and was then sent a picture of the away end upper tier with two large blocks of seats virtualy unoccupied. Was this the case from anyone there and if so does anyone know why?
They played silly fuckers and limited out ticket numbers to match what we can give them at the Lane. The lower tier at the Lane holds 2,700 tickets and that's what they gave us out of the 3,700 overall capacity of that deathtrap stand.

Don’t they normally give both tiers to away fans?

They always give both tiers to away fans, around 4000 tickets
But as our away end is smaller with a 2.7K capacity……Chansiri is childlike and wants to do a tit for tat arrangement and only offer us the 2.5K in the upper tier.

Then the problem is SAG become involves.
In the PL, SAG were happy for away fans to be given 2,860 tickets,
However in the Championship insist on the front row not being sold, so away teams receive 2,725 tickets.
However for the Derby at the Lane SAG insisted the front 2 rows were blocked off, so SW were only given 2,420 seats.

At Hillsboro away fans have been given 2,500 in the Leppings Lane upper tier
But SAG restricted it further for our visit down to just over 2,200.

We went in the Ball @ Crookes for a couple and had a walk down so was easy enough. Swore I’d never use the tram for a Derby game after the 2-4. Could see a big line of coppers on Hillsborough corner, just took the side streets and swerved all that.

No real aggro til we got just outside Leppings lane. Plenty of nobheads jumping up and down giving it the big un from behind a metal barrier they could very have easily have walked around if they really wanted to have a go.

Outside afterwards a few big groups of pigs stood outside the chippy on Leppings lane giving it the usual…one Blade shouts at them “if you’re gonna do something then fucking get on with it”.

Suffice to say nobody did and had a steady walk back through the park trying and up the hill to the Raven. Few pigs in there talking about how they needed West Brom to lose a few now….let it go lads, that’s your season done.
