My thoughts entirely. Awful right now, but scored shit loads at a higher level over the previous 2 seasons.
Chesterfield fans thought Doyle was wank last seson. They're playing it differently at a higher level this season and look at him go.
I don't think we get enough people in and around the box, often enough, to suit his style. He's definitley not a mobile player, he's a finisher. Without service, or someone to feed off him, he's a waste of a shirt.

Surely NC had done his due diligence before taking him on, or was he a panic buy?I think Clough sees him as a nuisance player, one who will bully their defence leaving space for other strikers / midfielders to take advantage of. He's also shown that he's a decent finisher throughout his career given the chances. We've been very lightweight up front in recent seasons and we've seen the likes of Brentford, Wolves getting out of this division with strong powerful strikers.
As I say, I just don't think we've gelled up front yet and I don't think Clough's got an idea at the moment who should play and injuries haven't helped. That's why I'm not convinced that throwing another striker into the mix would definitely improve things, it's not as if Higdon's missing chance after chance. He doesn't, though, look like the kind of player who will fashion chances off his own back a la Ched.
I love it that after less than 5 games he is considered a huge failure despite Clough openly saying he isn't fit and will take time to get match fit. Have patience please!
He isn't Diego Costa but we are in the third tier of English football at the moment!
McNuts had a good game at Upton Park - he will develop into a good asset in time

This is a very good point what a lot of people have missed. He came off last night and all of a sudden we started to get players in and around the box, mainly due to the players that came on and not him coming off,so it would have been interesting to see if he could have been where Flynny was when he got his tap in after the change in how we approached the game, because before that we hardly got anyone up there to support him.I don't think we get enough people in and around the box, often enough, to suit his style. Maybe the overall tactics and setup of our play doesn't suit him?
People feed off Porter and he still gets panned.
?
That's a bit unfair. Porter works hard and chases the opposition back line, works the channels and tries to get in goalscoring positions. Porter's limitations are almost entirely down to technical ability. Higdon's limitations so far seem to be mostly down to application, but watching the ball bounce off his shins for ten yards and his inability/unwillingness to jump I'd say technical ability is also an issue.Higdon = Porter - Goals
Whereas your mate Higgy........Sorry, but that's a myth that only has any semblance of acceptance because a few people repeat it often enough. Porter is rubbish both aerially and at holding the ball up.

"Won't go to town on him 1st game of season but the improvement in the lad will have to be "significant" to win me over, otherwise I fear we have brought in yet another over the hill useless lump"
