Hello everyone.

I am needing some help.

I am trying to get some info and pictures if possible about a man called Richard Cushlow.

He played for us in the 40/50's and im wondering if anyone has heard of him (has programmes or pictures etc)

This is for a girl in my class at uni, she doesnt know much about him (but its her grandad) and she wants to get some info if poss as her family dont seem to have any stuff for her.

any help on this would be much appreciated people.

ive done the usual google and checked my blades books but no luck.

UTB.

Born in Shotton on 15 June 1920.

Joined the Blades at the end of November, early December 1947 from Chesterfield where he'd made 34 appearances at center-half. Was transferred to Derby as part of an exchange deal for Fred Smith. He later moved to Palace where he made 28 appearances. His career was ended in 1952 by injury.

do u reckon the club will have photos foxy? or can recommend somewhere i could get hold of one?

I'd imagine it's unlikely, but will try and find out for you.

My dad knew Dick quite well. He introduced me to Dick at the Gorsey Brigg pub at Dronfield Woodhouse in the late 1970s. My dad was telling me that Dick played for Crystal Palace before a bad injury ended his career. I remember Dick being stockily built and had thick grey hair and the way he smiled was similar to Jimmy Tarbuck's. I read somewhere that he was reserve player for us but didnt make it to the 1st team before going to Palace (Foxy has found that Dick joined us from Chesterfield). Not sure how my dad knew Dick, maybe it was cos Dick lived in Dronfield for a long time. I believe he died about 10 years ago

It would seem he never made an appearance for the Blades 1st team. He doesn't get a mention in the Clarebrough/Kirkham '"Who's Who", let alone a picture.

We signed a player who was injured? Some things never change.

Yes but United were playing the long game on this one

United knew that in 60 or 70 years time, DP8789 would be struggling to attract girls when he got to Uni, so they signed a crock so that when he was studying at Uni he may stand a chance of getting some action by some strange twist of fate ...

Don't let the club down DP ;)

Given DP's name, if I was the girl in question I would be a bit worried....

Should be worth a blowjob at the very least.
