Really surprised at the results of this poll so far, today was clearly a turning point

The next appointment should be someone who will be able to take us back up next year. Hecky isn’t that person. Without a star player in the team like Ndiaye Hecky hasn’t got a clue

Hecky is so risk averse and cautious I'll bet he buys salt n shake crisps and throws away the salt!
Let’s not take the piss out of a decent man who overall has done a fine job picking up the pieces , twice , getting us up , which at least seems to have preserved the immediate financial stability of our club . A man who has been given almost no support whatsoever from an owner who has wanted out for two seasons ,who let us suffer an embarrassing transfer embargo and only got interested again when we were sure to go up and went to Wembley .

I know who I blame , and it’s isn’t Hecky .

If he has to go so be it - but let’s have a little respect hey

I'd say get rid but who is going to get more from these players who clearly aren't good enough for this level. Anybody who thinks this squad have the balls to keep us in the Premier League are on industrial strength Deludamol.
Teams get down the sides of us time and time again because we have the two worst wing backs ever Bogle has gone backwards since that bad injury and Thomas well may as well get rid of him, Lowe looks better than he does. Midfield is pedestrian God alone knows what Slimane does in training if he can't command a place instead of Norwood or Souze. Anyone still think we have a top striker in Archer who does more falling on his arse than any other contribution?
Get more from these players? Hecky is getting nothing from them. Getting something from them is automatically an improvement.

No one thinks that changing manager will save us from relegation. But some of us believe that changing the manager might see us look organised. It might see us look capable of defending. It might see us look capable of completing one pass ..... hell, let's go crazy, see us look capable of completing two consecutive passes. It might see us have some off ball movement instead of this static, lifeless, ineffective Subbuteo wank.

These aren't huge asks from these players, but Hecky clearly isn't asking it of them as he approaches every game the same way and clearly doesn't have a clue how to approach matches in any other way. He's a cheap Wilder lacking the passion and lacking the tactical know how to make the formation and tactics that's he's copied work.

Get rid and at least we can go down with some fight and dignity.

I just don't understand how supposed PL level players can't fucking pass the ball to each other and shit consistently shit themselves in a wild panic. It's almost laughably bad.

Well written that.
Can't disagree. We are becoming a laughing stock where
opposition teams don't need to try that hard and still beat us.
The results are generally respectable but we are many levels below PL standard as though we're a league 1 or league 2 team playing a PL club in the cup.

We were an upper Championship team last year so why aren't we playing like one.
I had a theory last season that even one of the best squads and most expensively assembled squads we regularly struggled to convince last season.
In many games we were a similar standard to the opposition but we have the magic of N'Duaye to bail us out.

Fans who say the manager makes no difference are totally wrong.
Remember when we appointed Howard Kendall, almost overnight we turned into a short passing team where every player looked comfortable on the ball.
When we appointed Wilder again almost immediately we looked well drilled as though passing drills/ routines had been practised in training.
We also started showing more desire and confidence.
We are poor no denying that and it hurts but

opposition teams don't need to try that hard and still beat
I mean ..why ?
Arent things bad enough that there is no need to make things up ?
Youve got plenty to complain about ,more than enough but you have to add an additional fictitious element for some bizzare reason

How do you know what Hecky is or isn’t demanding - are you involved in team briefings ?

The next 2 games are a certain zero points either way. So Hecky is either in the job until November at the earliest or he's gone before the next one.

Why does the chairman get no heat he's the one who's consigned us to the drop?

Why does he need to? He has the club up for sale. He wants out.

He isn't picking the team and managing the players.

Asaba on RS spotted the weakness in our tactics within 2 minutes of todays game, and was getting audibly frustrated that it wasn’t being addressed.

The same continued until they inevitably scored.

How anyone can look at these performances and think we’re competing is beyond me, and for me it’s a painful combination of hecky being unable to positively affect changes, and the players being all over the place.

We need to drop 352 asap and start working on a new style pronto as we’re painfully weak atm.

Always knew this day would come with Hecky. Nice guy. Championship level at best. After Barnsley he has done nothing. You need more than Hecky, McCall, Lester in this league
Aside from getting promotion from a mediocre Blades side.

Let him go this evening and let a tactician loose on them for 2 weeks before the next game.

Start with some simple pass and move drills. We can move onto marking and creating chances in a weeks time

Baby steps.....

I usually stay out of these threads, but...

IF we decided to bring someone in, or if Hecky felt himself that it could be beneficial to make a change, would it be a good idea to keep him on as Directof of Football? He's a decent bloke, speaks well... and is on a five year contract. I'm also not convinced the club has enough football men above manager level.

He's done a good job, but I've never felt we're playing brilliant football under him.

My concern with the DoF role is that this involves signing players for the manager who they identify will fit into their system and tactics. He's picked his own this season for his own "system and tactics" and they've not exactly stood out for the right reasons.
