Hecky is a great man, honest, humble, personable but he’s not a top manager.
I’ve said this before

Lovely bloke and handles problems with dignity

But EPL managers have to have a bit of bite
Pep - Klopp - de Zerbi - Arteta - all set the tempo by their sideline temperament

Don’t want Wilder back, but 1st season up he was in that mould

What tempo does Hecky set?

Same as Potter - Lampard - Gerrard

And they all got sacked with clubs heading to relegation

. While I accept its 100% down to our owner its Hecky who will carry the can.
It is not the owners's fault that players are static during a game, give the ball away when not under pressure, are playing slow ,pedestrian football , are mot organised to compete in a game or not changing tactics when required. Nor are the owner's responsible for team selections or instructing the players how to approach a game or jow wasy other teams seem to quickly work.out how to play against us

Went backwards everytime we got the ball then fucked around with it and lost it anyway, we might as well gone forwards at the first opportunity.

Subs were poor, took Hamer off when he was the better player, should have took Norwood off for McAtee. Brewster should have come on for Archer sooner, Archer did nothing except for a 10 minute spell just after he should have been subbed.

No plan B, we looked poor for the whole game, Fulham looked shit, we did nothing to try and press them.

We can't get any new players in, so even if it's just the quality on field, our only option is to try and change off the field and get someone with fresh ideas in.

Pains me to say it's but Hecky has to go before it's too late.

I feel for Hecky but there has to be some kind of fight. Or signs of progress. However we aren't even showing signs of this or making things difficult for teams. No fight. We simply have to try another way.....

Massive thanks PH but we need to change things up.

It all boils down to fitness and we lack it. Not just with injuries but general player fitness to keep pace for 90 minutes at this level.

We would probably have at least 3 or 4 more points on the board.

The players are lazy. Keep the manager and sack the players.

True. But in the real world that ain't going to happen. He needs to go now so that someone can come in and at least kick them up the arse and get them competitive again. At the moment they they have given up. At any other PL club their manager would be gone by now.

It's already too late.

Keep seeing this 5 year contract reference being pointed out, has he signed a new one or is he still on the original one? If so he should have about 2 and a half years left on it?
Original one so you’re correct. I just think in an era where football managers are in a job for about a season at time giving an unproven manager 5 years was a bit careless. He’s contracted to the end of 2026

It's hard to watch but I'm finding it hard to believe how many seem surprised.

Whether someone can make us more competitive, quite possibly, but they're certainly not going to make much difference to the outcome.

Our squad is nowhere near good enough even with everyone fit.

We don't have the money to compete.

I can cope with sensible suggestions as replacements but all I see is either managers who wouldn't touch us with a barge pole, or more depressingly, Wilder or Warnock.

It's never nice having a season where you feel like the outcome is sealed so early, and tbf we don't have many. It's just that we've had two so close together.

yeh i kind of agree. he’s just very nice but not really got enough about him for the highest tier of club football in the world.

Meant the owner in respect of funding a team capable of competing. Wasn't defending Hecky s man management or lack of .👍

This season is a great measure of why it’s not always good just to be ‘positive’ which I would call ‘delusional’ before the season.

All those people that are now hecky out are the ones who deluded themselves into thinking we had a good chance of staying up. It’s not Hecky’s fault, the squad is not good enough it’s quite frankly as simple as that.

It’s tiresome seeing people defend abject shit players just becusee you ‘can’t write them off after 5 games’. Yes, you can. We saw enough from these players to know they’re not good enough but the deluded ‘optimists’are now lost, whereas your reasonable prescient football could see clear as day preseason that this squad has ni hope. (This stretches to last season by the way, where I stand by we really weren’t that good)

Hecky in, hecky out, means absolutely fuck all. I’ve always been ambivalent to him, just hope the next bloke isn’t a c*** and we go again next year. It’s not his fault though runs so much deeper
Largely nailed it for me.

I've got a lot of time for Hecky and Macca but I agree totally, in my experience ignoring this forum, it's the ones showing blind faith who are the first to jerk their knees.

Having watched the game today I’m firmly Hecky out now. He’s clearly a fantastic bloke but we don’t have any clear patterns of play and without Ili’s magic to get us something from nothing we don’t offer owt. I don’t know how we manage it but we’re simultaneously incredibly open at the back whilst not causing teams any problems going forward!

Absolutely no problem planning for relegation but going down without a fight is only going to hurt us mentally next season.

Change this weekend please and use the international break to pick up the pieces.

We're just so passive... I could almost guarantee that Heckys wife wears the pants in his marriage.

Hecky makes Southgate look like Macho Man Randy Savage.
Hecky is so risk averse and cautious I'll bet he buys salt n shake crisps and throws away the salt!

The reason we went up last season was Ndiaye. To lose him 1 week out was mental. A change of manager will do absolutely nothing. We have a poor defence midfield and attack. Nobody will change our fortunes.
You cannot say they aren’t fighting they are but just miles off the quality needed.
May as well stick with Hecky.

Saying that I’d take mid table championship over this misery of being so displaced. It’s simply no fun.

The signs were there last season and they have Carried on into this season

If he is in charge for man united the clubs hierarchy have given up

If it was upto me he would have gone in the summer as harsh as that is

We have to get on the phone to wilder

If he can somehow get us playing like the promotion and 1st prem season and even the first 10 games of the Covid year we have a decent chance of staying up

This squad is better than the one he had

All we have to do is finish above Burnley,Luton&Bournemouth

Get him back for Man U and the lane will be absoloutely bouncing

JUST DO IT

Always knew this day would come with Hecky. Nice guy. Championship level at best. After Barnsley he has done nothing. You need more than Hecky, McCall, Lester in this league
No you need better than Thomas Robinson Souza Norwood Basham (sorry Bash) McBurnie.

Want him at the club, want him being in and around the players, as a coach perhaps?

Do not want him managing the team, we need somebody to set an identity and stamp on the team for next year, as a systems gonna help us sign/ keep players intelligently and get back up.

Something has to give now I’m afraid, always been behind Hecky but there is nothing there,competiveness-nil,pattern of play-nil,confidence-nil,improvement of team-nil,chance of staying up-nil,losing to the geordies 8-nil ,we are rudderless without a captain lacking in ideas .Big decision for the prince now after choking on his Los Angeles breakfast.

I don’t dislike Hecky, he’s clearly a decent man. But what’s his style of play? Wilder was overlapping Centre half’s, Kendall was crisp passing play, Bassett was blood and thunder getting the ball into the box quickly. We need a playing identity again, at the moment it’s nothingness followed by nothingness.

Besides the fact that sacking Hecky won't achieve anything as we still won't have the resources or the quality to pick up enough points to stay up...we're also skint and unlikely to be able to afford sacking Hecky.

If we sacked him now and got a replacement in, how long before people are calling for the head of his replacement when we're still losing games? I highly doubt people will show some restraint and go "Well, we can't change again so we'll have to stick with him".

It's going to be a fucking horribly rough ride, but we'll just have to shut our eyes, bite the pillow and pray that there's a least a bit of spit on it before it goes in.

The run had come crashing down by ',covid' boll9cks time.
Performance against Norwich was fucking terrible.
The poison dwarf has fucked up at Watford and Middlesbrough since.

I'd say get rid but who is going to get more from these players who clearly aren't good enough for this level. Anybody who thinks this squad have the balls to keep us in the Premier League are on industrial strength Deludamol.
Teams get down the sides of us time and time again because we have the two worst wing backs ever Bogle has gone backwards since that bad injury and Thomas well may as well get rid of him, Lowe looks better than he does. Midfield is pedestrian God alone knows what Slimane does in training if he can't command a place instead of Norwood or Souze. Anyone still think we have a top striker in Archer who does more falling on his arse than any other contribution?
