Hecky interview.....blame the players.

I haven’t read all this thread but he talks about the players not taking risks and fails to see the irony in his picking Fleck over Mcatee or Doyle, he talks about aggression and leaves Baldock on the bench. That was the most unadventurous, lethargic, unmotivated, team selection he could have ever picked.
Man City have loaned us two of their best academy prospects, so play them FFS. Baldock is the catalyst for our aggressive style of play, he sets the standard, others follow, it motivates and gets results. Let’s be right, we’re not blessed with superb players all over the pitch, but we out work every team, we close them down, we hunt in packs and put the ball in the oppositions net. That’s when we are playing well, not like that fucking airy fairy, lacklustre, half hearted performance today and that all stems from the personnel he sent out on the pitch.

As someone once said ‘You’ve got to fucking die to get three points’ 😤

I've not changed my stance that we all need to stick behind the team but I can't pretend that I wasn't genuinely shocked by that performance today.

I was really disappointed by the second half at Blackburn but was happy with not only the result at Reading, but the way we generally controlled the game without being great.

Today, however, sorry but we were abysmal. Not the defeat, but the performance.

Ignoring the subs, I thought 8 or 9 of the starters couldn't leave the pitch with their head held high The amount of absolute basics that were so badly executed beggared belief.

Hurts me to say it but today felt like a possible watershed moment considering the circumstances at half time.

The way this league is things could maybe change again this week but everything about that performance today from the players and staff has me far more concerned than at any point this season.

how on earth are you shocked. We’ve put in that performance countless times this season.

Its not even out of the ordinary. Its just fucking normal.

Don't agree.

We've not been at it as regular as we were earlier in the season no question, but we've still had good periods or halves in most games.

Whilst Luton are having a good season and have a really good away record, I wasn't that impressed with them today.

We lost because we were terrible for 90 mins.

I'm struggling to remember a game for a while, let alone this season, where pretty much every starter bar maybe a couple were so poor for the full game.

The manager and staff have to take their share of the blame too but that was a new low today for me.

If it’s the RS one you’ve nailed it.
Utter rubbish interview , just a sucking up job.
Why not ask him ...
WHY was our attacking threat nonexistent ?
WHY did the WBs not get forward ?
WHY was our midfield bossed ?
WHY did you not change things at HT ?
WHY have 3 defenders on the bench and only one aging striker ?
WHY do you think we have lost to all four teams immediately below us ?
(instead of saying we always bounce back , which we clearly don't).
Utter bollox of an interview.
At least ask the questions which every fan is asking.
Make the fecker think

Hibs are poor
"Would you take Hecky back,"

"Gtf"

I can’t understand his negative tactics with the squad we have. With the players we have plus the loan players we have brought in, why aren’t we playing on the front foot? Wouldn’t we win more and therefore get us over the line to automatic promotion? I just don’t get it, his defensive strategy has cut a 15 point lead to 4. Not the sign of a winner, a manager shitting himself but doesn’t do himself any favours with stubborn tactics, team selection and strategy.

And the worrying thing is that he will just put it down to the team not following orders today and probably pick the same fucking side again away v Sunderland. He clearly doesn't have the mental capacity to learn from his continual tactical mistakes. As I say to the team who work for me, I will back you if you make a honest mistake and you can tell me why to you made the decision you did. What I also tell them is that they need to learn from their mistakes and be better for making them. Not sure PH is learning from his. He's starting to look either very arrogant or very poor at his job.

He's probably good pals with the players. What they need at times is to be led with good tactics, good team selections, and occasionally a fucking rocket up their arses. He probably tickled their bellies in the changing room afterwards. If I was the gaffer, we would have had to send out for pizza at about 9pm tonight as I would have still been 'discussing' today's little shitshow with the players. He is a weak manager.

He’s completely out of his depth. The fact that theres so many fans that cant fucking see it is absolutely baffling to me.

We’ve been fucking shit to watch for so long its unbelievable. If we go up, we’ll be one of the worst teams to be promoted in Championship history

I suppose we all have our own opinion and people see things differently. I think I've made it clear what I think of PHs current performance. That said I would be ecstatic if we bounced back on Weds night and still ended up with the automatic spot (unlikely now imo). But even if we did I wouldn't want him to be managing us next season as he is showing too many baffling decisions and the football is usually pretty turgid to watch.

Some also for whatever reason, hate to be critical of their darling Blades even if it's genuinely warranted as they think they are being disloyal. Not sure how that works on a football club forum but if floats their boat and makes them feel superior or more content then knock yourselves out. How anyone can defend the team today, or not see that we are generally negative, fearful, boring to watch, and badly managed at times, is beyond me.

Let's hope we bounce back but today was another example of PH getting it badly wrong. It happens too often.

Not an ounce of responsibility accepted , not a gram of fighting talk , totally uninspiring - can't see him selecting the right players or lifting them.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog.
Losing to all four teams immediately below us , tells you all you need to know about the chances of us winning 7 of the remaining 10 games.

It also tells you that we lack heart as a team and that we have fuck all chance in the play offs if that's where we end up as we will have to play these teams (with the exception of Boro) again. Yep, can see us sweeping those teams away as PH picks his tired old veterans again in midfield....

One loss does not make this a bad season.

We are going up in second place so stop with the negativity.
ONE LOSS ?????
Where have you been ?

A month ago we were 14 points clear

This team and manager don't have the fitness, conditioning or mentality to go up.

There isn't a chance that we're going up. Not a chance.

They've been shit for months scraping past relegation threatened teams who had no self belief, we made each and every one of them look half decent, and then made a non league team look half decent twice.

It's the most mentally and physically unfit team I've ever seen us have.

We've even been relegated with teams with more bottle than this fucking shower

I don't want Hecky and McCall at the club next season the thoughts of those two in charge against the pigs is terrifying they will put 5 past us. Premier League forget it we are heading for the play off's and more heartache.
What a fucking ridiculous pile on of wanker posts tonight. Al the right minded level headed posters are in the background biding their time and looking forward to better days. Shit supporters just fuck off.

This needs to change now. The players look totally shot anel looks terrible on the ball no midfield. Fleck has to go Doyle and Coulibaly in to give us some legs in midfield. You can see why hecky gets sacked everywhere he manages with his no risk style

I am not sure what he expected picking that midfield.
It brought to mind the quite brilliant resignation speech by Geoffrey Howe that did for Mrs Thatcher:

“Mr Speaker. I believe the chancellor and the governor [of the Bank of England] are cricketing enthusiasts, so I hope there is no monopoly of cricketing metaphors. It is rather like sending your opening batsmen to the crease only for them to find, the moment the first balls are bowled, that their bats have been broken before the game, by the team captain.”
