DoF…. Have you seen the signings he has left us with.

He went down to the championship with a dream team squad. He’s left us with zero players and a squad that’s arguably mid table championship at best, unfit and all out of contract.
A dream squad ? how come then that Slav, who everyone creamed and was seen as a much better choice than Hecky couldn't get us the play offs with the dream squad ?
a morgan gibbs white penalty away from getting us promoted with half a season, then gets us runners up with 91 points the following season whilst under transfer embargao , and having to release players at January instead of adding players for the final push.... top man Hecky will always have my respect ... Listen

Did a vastly underrated job imo.

Turned round a sinking ship in his first season

Kept us on course amid unpaid wages rumours and under the threat of admin and points deductions

He wasn’t given any money to sign anyone permanently.

Gave young lads a chance

Was fighting with both hands behind his back with his laces tied together before this season given the catestrophic way we handled promotion.

Not many that would have achieved more in the circumstances
If wages had been unpaid there would have been more than just rumours about it.

He’s one of the very few managers in our history who have lead us to promotion to the top flight. He did that with practically zero budget for permanent transfers, a training ground that’s not fit for purpose, awful injuries (he should shoulder partial blame), and Cookie Monster from sesemi street leading our scouting and recruitment.

He did an amazing job. And conducted himself with a huge amount of dignity considering the crap he had to deal with. I’m not even sure he got ‘found out’ this year. I don’t necessarily argue with his sacking but he was dealt a horribly shite hand.

Would be very happy to have him back as a DoF in a year or two with a young promising, modern manager.
Under 21s yes. D.O.F. never, his signings were fucking horrific!!

Wanted to keep Sharp and Stevens.

This is who you would want as your DoF. Football is all about opinions but personally wanting to keep both for a PL drive wouldn’t have you down as a future DoF.

He’s a good coach, we have given him a huge career boost and hopefully he can use it well and progress a career. But he would be one of the worst DoF I’ve ever seen.
That did worry me.

But then again Sharp and Stevens for one year on affordable wages or loan fees for Larouci and Thomas plus wages and 3-4m plus wages on Traore.

Not great options either way to be honest.

He's not eligible for one if he's reached 12 points from totting up. He'll have already been offered that when he got his first 6 points.
The point I was making was that he will have accumulated 12 points and presumably also done a speed awareness course.

Don't rate him but don't hate him.
Had alot of luck with the squad he was left with.
Someone told me watch hecky in interviews he's always itching / scratching his head and its so true it was every interview
Decent bloke but not man-management
I would hate to go in a sheffield-derby v pigs with him in charge he reminds me of Bryan Robson who didn't understand the nature of the fixture.
I've gotta say if there's one thing next season I'm somewhat glad about is that we're heading in to derbys with Wilder. I've always said a derby doesn't necessarily come down to pure quality but more about which teams understand what the fixture means and can produce on the day.

Obviously I'm biased but the 4-2 was an immense derby all round and I would happily hold my hands up and said the same if Wednesday had come from 2 down as well as took all 3 pkints. Obviously Wilder understood the fixture but it felt like Carlos and both squads did too. If he can manage to get that kind of fire from a squad he has a hand in building we might manage alright

With regards to Hecky I echo alot of what's been said. I think he did need to move on but I've got no problem with his time here

He might have done one or two in the past when he picked up his first 3 points and the next 3. Once you hit 9 you're not eligible and when you reach 12 it's a day out in court.

Next seasons derbies will be totally different .us blades won't known what team or players will here and playing cone the first fixture which I hope will be Xmas time as we've a rebuild to do and young uns to blend in.
I'm more confident in wilder now than ever as he's released the old backbone who gave us promotions and he's rebuilding.
Keep hamer keep arblaster and let's go again. .
Regards Wendy if rumours persist then there manager is off same windass etc and some loans so nobody knows the teams of either yet.
I predict one of the teams to take 4 points from the possible 6.

Yeah I’m not looking forward to the derbies next year at all. Firstly, I hate being the favourites in these fixtures. Secondly, it’s not at all clear as we sit here today that we’ll be a vastly stronger side than them (if Rohl stays). I’m pretty sure we’ll finish above them, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if we finished 8th and they finished, say, 13th.

We get our signings right this pre season and we hammer them all over both games.

They are just big and powerful. They will cause teams problems and would probably cause us many problems right now.

We get some big lads in who can compete against that style of play. Then they won’t be able to compete with us at actual football.

If both managers stay I reckon we'll win at the Lane and they'll win at the sty.

If Rohl goes we'll paste them home and away

I think some need to put some respect on Heckingbottom's name.

He took us from lower midtable to a penalty shoot-out away from the play-off final in his first season. Then promotion and an FA Cup semi-final the season after, against a backdrop of god knows what behind the scenes. Spent money on one player (Anel) in that time. Developed Ndiaye. Morgan Gibbs-White has a lot to thank him for too.

He gets a pass from me for this season. Even Pep Guardiola would look stupid if he had the crown jewels sold behind his back and had to replace them by shopping at Costcutter.
Spot on

What we would give for that next season

I'd say hecky is one of our best managers in recent times just for the promotion last season, good squad or not if we didn't go up we would be well and truly fecked for many more years to come.

Yes, that's the point I was making, about the number of offences he must have accumulated to get a driving ban.
