Head it Down

A few of our guys - Moose, Oli, Egan from the last couple of matches alone could do with watching Aguero’s headed goal v Palace. If you head it down it’s so much harder to save. Billy also frequently heads it down.

We seem determined to head it horizontally into the net - which is a good height to save, but we head them all over the bar anyway!

Head it down and you can score, somebody can tap in after the save or somebody can tap it in straight off the ground.

We need to play for probabilities, not for the cameras.
Wasnt necessary.
Regards.

Many thanks Silent .

That photo entirely encapsulates my memory of a classic Doc Pace header , with that wonderful two footed spring off the ground whilst at the same time keeping his upper body rock solid , a powerful thrust of his neck and his eyes firmly on the ball .

As a result , when I saw him going to head a ball I was always at least 90% confident that it would go exactly where he intended it to , which was usually the back of the net .

Boy , could he give an example to most modern strikers as to how to head a football , many of whom give the impression they can't be arsed to jump and head it with their eyes closed .

One of the best headers of a ball was John Tudor.

This must be another team. We don't score from corners ever.

We used to in the Brian Deane era. A corner was nearly as good as a penalty to us and the chant was "Oooo its a corner oooo its a corner". Pretty sure we nearly broke a record once having something like 11 consecutive corners.
