heres an article from 1982 showing the ticket prices for that year
The title crazy was based on the fact it cost 10 p more to go and watch Lincoln , than go and watch man city ,who ?
That being £1.40 as opposed to £1 ,30, our season ticket was £51 £1 more than Wednesdays, man citys was only £26

I'm quite a bit fatter but a lot wiser.

I'm now a half-decent golfer rather than a very good (amateur) footballer.

I've stopped drinking sterile Europop and discovered real ale. It goes hand in hand with proper football.

Some of the player playing then had a lot less hair than me and now it is the other way round.

Not a lot has changed. We were 3rd bottom in Division 3 just a few weeks ago as well!

The Dell did have seats, but probably for some reason the article didn't get the price from them.

Not sure on the ST prices either. To take Arsenal as they are first on the list , 21 x £3 = Much less than the price quoted.

Older, greyer, and not necessarily wiser.

The rest of the old brigade are welcome to copy and paste this as their current state too.

I had a friend at boarding school who followed the Saints in the 1970s (he is now a season ticket holder at Chelsea) and I used to take the mickey about these floodlights at the Dell. I said they were borrowed from an Army Garrison

Not really a lot changed tbh, board still selling players to pay off "new stand"
Manager still being promised money from transfers/investments
Fans still fickle as a $10 whore (meaning here player one week the new messiah, 2 weeks on waste of 10 bob per week wages*)
Still got the stupid supports for kop roof, meaning limited view (21st century Ffs )
Pies and beer still shite and expensive
Police still playing arsey tw@s
So no not a lt changed at BDTBL in 32 years, and long may it continue

*adjust wages for inflation, stupid managers spending stupid money on wank players, and agents

in 1982 I reckon the admission price was equal to the price of 2-3 pints, so that's definitely changed. As for myself I like to think I have played a small part in ensuring the future of our noble tribe. 2 kids who are committed Blades another who doesnt give a monkeys but is in a long term relationship with a season ticket holder and my wife, who was brought up by her father as an Evertonian, is now an honorary Blade (yes dear I am sure it was: love, honour, obey and put up with a lot of sh*te football on cold wet winter evenings)

What is this Division 1, 2, 3 & 4 it speaks of?

only a matter of time before the numbers go altogether. How about
PREMIERSHIP
CHAMPIONSHIP
ALL THE OTHER CR*P WHO WILL NEVER GET ON MATCH OF THE DAY (NORTH)
ALL THE OTHER CR*P WHO WILL NEVER GET ON MATCH OF THE DAY (SOUTH)

Don't forget the kick in of senility which makes you latch on to what others have said before;).

the season ticket price would be the cheapest so the 21 x £1,80
THE £3 seat one was £54 , looked it up

Ours at 23 x £2.20 comes out at £50.60 pay on the day prices, season ticket price £51
£1 was a lot then, I think they put whatever st price they were given , obviously might have been for say a terrace which was 10 p dearer then me thinks , or a cheap seat price , it doesnt say where the st was for but has standing and seat prices , you get the general jist though

My penis has shrunk a little...only a bit mind... ;)

Was just thinking sure it was only 50p on the Kop/John St Terrace back then but I was a junior!

4th Officials and managers in "technical areas" - all frigging prima donnas too fond of the cameras, winding each other up, intent on being centres of a attraction, and despite not being able to see much of the game from ground level always tinkering.

4th Officials there simply to separate managers and calm them down. Otherwise just operate a numbers board. Total waste of their time and when we are desperately short of good refs in the middle. Progress!!!

Let's go back 32 years please!!
