players who wouldn't commit to the club
As far as I know there is only one player that wouldnt commit to the club

To say that Wilder should be going through the interview with a lawyer is a very, very silly thing to say.
If Wilder thinks some of what has been said doesnt give a true version of events why shouldnt Wilder have the right to have legal advice ? Why is it silly ?
Wilder has put it in the hands of the LMA

So it’s official we are now the running joke of football. But I’m interested has any other chairman of a Premier League football club come out so openly and hammered an ex manager and disclosed financial earnings?

Im just wondering if we are the first to do this?
PA was spot on with his comments.

I take it you missed Wilder sniping at the Board in every pre and post match interview, when he should have been fully focused on trying to turn this abysmal season around?

People were slagging McCabe off for doing the exact same thing and hated him, as it hurt the club.
Chris is now potentially doing the same thing, without getting the same treatment.

Fair play to the Prince for speaking openly, it’s obviously his version of the events. And as the Queen says, some recollections may (no doubt) vary.

I think the big message was that the Prince did put faith in Wilder, he did pay him well. However, we may never know how this was reflected in how Wilder felt he was left to do his job.

I don’t think that it’s unreasonable for a manager to have complete control of recruitment targets, it’s the clubs responsibility to look after the money side and set budgets.

I think the Prince is also correct that Wilder should be accountable for failings in those areas

I don’t think it’s really that big a deal when the manager Refers to players as “championship”. 9th or not last year, that’s what we’ve recruited. Dress it up how you want to sponsors but you can only piss with the cock you’ve got.

I am impressed to an extent with the interview, but I don’t have much faith in the Prince to run the club if he can’t retain the best manager we’ve ever had

Wilder should still be manager, it’s that simple.
You assume that CW was the best Premiership manager we have ever had. Many would disagree

I'm just wondering if the Prince will get blamed for everything? Right now it seems no matter what happens, it's his fault.

Exactly,
I've hammered our boardrooms on this and other websites for years, but I can't for the life of me see what PA has done wrong.

He has as much as humanly possible secured CW's position as our manager, but is saying CW wanted out. The fact that he's gone without being fired suggests this is true.

He is then expected to back a manager who wants to go, a manager who might spend another £100 million and if it doesn't work will want to leave again.

I don't know what else he could have done

Has any manager took his team to bottom of the league on a record breaking run, after been supported in the transfer market to the tune of £130m

Has he then been told no matter how many games he looses he won’t be sacked

Has he then tried to resign on 2 separate occasions, and then gone on to try to get him self sacked?

Then although claiming to love the club, asks for £4m to walk away leaving before he has the embarrassment of a relegation etched on his CV?

Sorry mate, we all loved what he did for us, but this has smacks of mardyness, greed and self preservation of the highest order

Had this action been taken by a foreign manager, he would be slaughtered, the fact he is a fan of the club makes it worse.

I loved Chris wilder and his time with the blades. Gutted to hear how he possibly acted towards the club.
If I resigned from my job and asked them to pay me a years salary for the privilege- they would laugh me out of the building- I hope they did the same to wilder, certainly looks that way and credit to them for that. If what the Prince has stated is true, and to be honest it all adds up with how wilder behaved for the latter part of his tenure - then thanks for the good times Chris but jog on to West Brom or Watford - those sort of ruthless clubs will suit you well. I want a manager that gives his all for the club even in the tough times - it’s like a captain of a ship steering his boat into an iceberg and as it’s sinking he decides he can’t be bothered to see it out so jumps ship. But before he goes he wants the last lifeboat to take with him.

I'm not remotely entrenched - quite the contrary actually. I believe in natural justice so Wilder obviously deserves the right of reply. The Prince should remove the NDA in order to facilitate this. I'd be saying that if the shoe was on the other foot... Would you?
Does the NDA even exist or is it just some other completely made up bullshit like the director of football thing?

You mean you don't think that his little dodge was in any way underhand? The court ruled that it did not invalidate the clause and he had to buy anyway, so I've no idea what McCabe thinks he's going to get out of suing his lawyers as he actually got what he (supposedly) wanted.
Agreed.

McCabe actually won the case, in so much as the Prince was told that he had to pay the agreed price for the shares, and purchase all the properties subject to the original agreement.

He only "lost" because of the very unfortunate (for him) timing of our promotion to the Premier League.

When he made a lowball offer for the Prince's shares he gambled that the Prince wouldn't be able to fund the property purchases, and without the promotion I feel that he would have been right. We have seen nothing to suggest that the Prince can raise £50m cash of his own back.

Of course the promotion changed all that as the club suddenly had the funds to purchase the property and so McCabe was stuffed.

McCabe may have played a bad hand but he did it all within the legalities of the partnership agreement and the Prince was the only one that acted dishonestly in his attempts to avoid having to buy the properties.

That is all now history and we have moved on but the Prince showed what he is capable of so I certainly don't trust everything he says.

However Wilder has now gone and we move on again.

It's going to be an interesting ride.

l’m no barrack room lawyer but don’t think an NDA prevents you from defending yourself from the statements of others. As for natural justice, the Prince should be allowed to counter claims made by know nowt (and some racist) big mouths on Facebook or Twitter. Particularly from a friend of CW.

As for not being entrenched, l can’t recall a post remotely critical of CW. Rather a black and white protectionist post on his behalf on every single post.

Equally l find the suggestion that the poor performances being deliberate is a ridiculous, slanderous and totally unnecessary comment, even using “if” or “could” as possible gets outs.

That's an odd reply. So you do think it was underhand? Because that's all I'm saying, this person has shown he can be underhand and manipulative when it comes to a battle of wills within SUFC. It's something I bear in mind when I hear him giving a largely unchallenged account of what's happened which paints him in a good light.
A lot of it may be true. A lot of it might not be. 🤷‍♂️

Odd because it turns your suggestion about Wilder not knowning what his representatives did on its head?

You accept that some may be true but decide to give it no countenance whatsoever. As do many others on both sides. To the vast majority of those l’d suggest not forming a written in stone opinion on your own guesses.

Greed would have been to stay in a job that he's been guaranteed and continue to get a high salary even when he's failing in his job. Trying to get himself sacked does not involve offering his resignation, where he doesn't get his contract paid up whereas waiting until he does get sacked, having been paid handsomely up to that point, does.
It can very much be argued that his "claiming to love the club" is proven by his leaving instead of milking the club for everything that his contract says he's entitled to.

If not underhand, what would you call a manager sitting in there, picking up a pay cheque until the end of his contract when he’s not giving his all?

Not how I interpreted it...

I understood that he offered to resign, and asked for £4m - he was told that if he quit he wouldn’t get the same payout as if he was fired (PA quote in interview)

He then had the choice to still walk, and accept a lower settlement or stay

He evidently stayed - now with hindsight we can see that the snide comments in his pressers were in fact goading them to sack him, thus realising his full payout

How many club owners would tolerate the comments, let alone whilst sat bottom of the league?

I think he finally left the club when it became apparent they weren’t going to pull the trigger, so he negotiated a severance package

I would like to think that as a Blade, had I led them to a record breaking relegation, and was already a multi millionaire from said club, I as a last gesture would walk out the front door not taking a penny more

It’s not like you and I jacking a job in, wondering where the mortgage is coming from etc

He has trousered (deservedly) several million, and will walk into another job on similar wedge, no need Chris, no need

It doesn't turn my suggestion on its head. It was a possible scenario ventured to counter an alternative and I made that perfectly clear. You seem to have latched on to it as something that I believe happened, which I don't.
I accept some may be true, I've said so several times. I don't know which bits or how true, so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to show it countenance. I also don't know which bits aren't true, though I've listed some points that don't seem to me to make sense.
My whole point has been not to form written in stone opinion on what the Prince has just said. I would say the same if Wilder did the same and made claims that didn't seem to make sense to me.

Greedy and unprincipled. The first of which he's accused of, but what you describe is exactly what he's not done.

A possible scenario that someone with your obvious business acumen think likely enough to mention? £4m quid demand ( my word) and he didn’t know? What if he wanted £6m? It’s a scenario to “protect”Wilder and can’t really be seen as anything else in my opinion.

The possibility of Wilders mate doing it on his behalf hadn’t occurred to you?

Greedy and unprincipled. The first of which he's accused of, but what you describe is exactly what he's not done.

It was your scenario that he could have just sat there for the money until his contract runs out. At least stick to your guns. My description was actually a question. You’re the one suggesting scenarios, funnily enough, all anti Prince and pro CW.

It seems clear PA made every effort to keep Wilder on board. I just think Wilder wanted out once he knew we were down sadly.

Wilder has ridden through the owner dispute, with the not knowing what will happen next and I thought if he could keep pushing forward after that fiasco then he could ride out this. I don't know what has gone on with Chris personally but something changed a while back. I think its weak as piss to cite what other clubs spend, a change in transfer policy or a leaky roof as reasons to walk away. This season was a shitter on the pitch but its not like we are not well equipped enough to bounce back.

Can you give me a reminder of my comment and the post I was replying to for context, since you're not going to let it go and are getting snidey about it. I don't quite know what your point is.

If you're talking about Wit, or whatever he's called, I have never given anything he's said the time of day. I wouldn't trust anything he says to be true and don't understand why Wilder never told him to button it. Very unprofessional, in my opinion. And no, I don't consider his Twitter comments to be Wilder's press conference.

It was my scenario of what he could do if he wanted to be greedy.
Funnily enough my posts are as pro Wilder as yours are pro Prince for deciding it's time to target someone who's pro Wilder. Hey ho.

Yes to a point, but you've built on what we know to add in assumptions. It's possible, but I think unlikely because he did actually try to resign multiple times. At any time the Prince could have accepted the resignation and he'd have gone with nothing.
On the money thing, it's difficult. For us, these sums are eye-watering, but it's not uncommon for rich people to fight things out over money they don't appear to need. I can't say I understand it. Pride? Self confirmation of worth? I don't know, but it happens a lot.

When you say ‘fact’ ... not sure we can say that at this point.
Sounds to be near enough

Been looking for out for some time according to his body language and his post match interviews.
Wanted to go but wanted a pay off . Can't fault him for trying to force them to sack him so he got full whack

I think you must be mixing me up with someone else. Easily done. You won't find anything but a balanced appraisal in my posts. You're putting far too much stock in Twitter comments from Wit, who for all we know doesn't know anything. His tweets have the weight of a marshmallow regardless. Former senior management figures and the c
owners friends on the other hand. Not to mention the owner himself. 😉
