Could Harry play central midfield?

I think he could, we wont know unless we try. He's good in the air, can score goals, tackle and pass, his biggest problem is lack of pace tho.

Hmmm good in the air, can tackle and pass but lacks pace.... I know HE SHOULD BE A CENTRE BACK!

Oh wait a minute....

He's got less of the required attributes than Jags had and he got moved back to CB

He's strong, he can do very decent long balls, he can score, and can out muscle everyone in league one

If we get two in during what's left of the JTW who're better centre backs then it would be a good option to try but otherwise we need him where he is. Personally I think he's a much better footballer than most give him credit for. I think like Greg Halford he could pretty much play anywhere on the park if necessary.

and yet he gets slagged off on this forum for playing at centre back

I voted yes, but if there had been an 'unsure' option I probably would have gone for that. A holding, sweeping role in a central midfield trio may have suited him allright. Short sprints and nippy opponents like Scougall would have been his weakness. He would have dominated aerially, which we've lacked in midfield since Jagielka played there.

Sometimes space opens up for centre halves and I'm glad Maguire and Collins often try to exploit it. Centre halves do also have responsibility to contribute offensively.
