Player Suggestion Hamza Choudhury

If he's free, it's only because Leicester want his £50k-per-week wages off their wage bill. I can only assume he's agreed to move to us because we're happy to pay something similar. I like him as a player and know he can do a job for us, but we need creativity in the squad. I'd rather bring in another winger and risk Doherty/Shackleton at RB for three months than blow our budget on Hamza. Unless Wilder has given up his plans of signing 2 more CB's already to being in said creativity.

Provided the wages are sensible, the transfer involves no transfer fee (other than maybe a signing on fee for the lad and agent) and the plan is to play him as a right back and not defensive midfielder (where he was very solid for us previously) then im fine with this one. Makes that right hand side solid again. Seriki is a miss but it is what it is. But of we bring im HC, we do desperately still need some creativity up top. Id like a natural chalk on the boots winger, and a dominant centre half.

Good business on a free. Allows the Worrall signing and a desperately needed left winger/creative player
Hamza apparently is booked in for a medical in the hope he will be on board for Tuesdays game.
He's being signed to cover for Seriki as his injury may be a long termer and Docherty is not yet ready for a full 90 mins twice a week.

Free transfer which is good. However we have no pace in the side and wilder is hoofball and counter attack but we have no pace so no idea what his tactics are? First 3 years of his legacy being ruined…

Excellent. So rather than pay an expensive wage for one season, our master negotiators are going to pay a bit less this season, but lumber us with him for 2-3 years. A player who currently can’t get into a struggling league one side, and who plays in a position we’ve already overstocked in. What a fucking mess.

I'll piss myself laughing if they've spent a summer playing hardball with other clubs, only to shit themselves in the final hours of the window because nobody has taken the bait and the reality of having big wages in League One has finally sunk in.

No way, if reports on here are anything like accurate isn’t McGuiness highest paid on £25k a week?

I still reckon Souttar moves for a lot less than what they were asking for.

I think if we get him Choudary is a good deal. Will be happy to see him back at the lane. I do hope we are offering Shackleton as part of the deal. He was awful yesterday.

And who will we have that plays in that position next season?

Why are we bringing in players that cant do a full 90 mins its a fecking joke its being allowed its the same recycled crap every year

Good player, but I'm not sure he's what we need. It's our athletic quotient that really needs bolstering. Wingers, pacy strikers and athletic full back/wing back options. He's a stopper in either position.

The plus points are that he provides steel and has height, strength and can win the ball. It should also help alleviate any desire to rush Doherty, Jairo or Phillips into starting games too early. It wouldn't surprise me if players left so he might be coming in for someone.

As in Hamza is currently reportedly on 50k per week, and it would be unlikely he'd take a 50% wage cut to come to us unless Leicester forgo a transfer fee for him so we can afford to pay close to his current wage. Strategically a loan move would probably suit him best so he doesn't loose out on his current big money contract

Most people would have been on board with signing Choudary a few weeks ago because he covered two positions, which was ideal in our situation where we can't bring in as many players as we'd like. We're overstocked at centre midfield now though, and he's not an actual right back, so this would seem a daft signing now.

As many have said, what was the point of signing Doherty if we can't play him when Seriki is injured? Shackleton came on anyway, so they could have done part of the game each at right back. It smacks of a lack of trust in both players to me, either in their ability or fitness. If that's the case then fine, loan a right back while Seriki is out, but we do not need another permanent midfielder or right back, especially one with no creative qualities.

He’s a better right back than he is a midfielder…

I think it's an absolute no brainer.

He's very good as a DM too and Phillips / Jairo aren't ready for 90 mins and aren't here beyond this season.

If nothing else, Choudhury always puts a shift in. Give us some bite and presence.
It also allows you to consider selling someone like Peck if we need to raise further funds in January, when hopefully Seriki is back.

No I know, which no doubt will have been complicated more so by having him carry on playing for 10 minutes when he was clearly injured. Our medical department really are beyond amateur
They’re not. Matters on the pitch of who stays on or goes off are the managers decision- unless it’s concussion.
