Roy's View From... Leicester and Watford Fans Views On Hamza Choudhury

I can only go on when I’ve seen him and he was very good in midfield, obviously the other supporters have seen more of him,not exactly a glowing report. 🥺

I think he's looked quality every time I've seen him play. Proof / Pudding and all that..........

He's been brought in to to a specific job, namely beef up the midfield and stop the opposition waltzing through our midfield, at will, like Hull did the other night.

He can hold up the opposition when we lose the ball further up field, get a foot in, win it back, and then lay it off to someone who can be more creative. It's about getting the right balance and ive thought we have been a little too open at times in midfield especially when Vini isn't playing. As long as he sticks to what he's good at, wins the ball and then finds another red and white shirt quickly, then he's done his job.

When you consider he's played for Leicester quite a bit especially in their title winning campaign, and CW has had him on his roster before, then he clearly brings something to the table. If you were expecting another Hamer, forget it (alot of clubs are looking for this type). If you were expecting a better version of Monty or a Trevor Hockey, then he's your man. All about the balance is a team. He's a good age, hopefully old enough to know better result his past daft actions, and will have learnt. He could be just what we need at this moment. Thumbs up from me.🤞👍

Cheers Roy.
If we keep signing players Roy, you are going to need a new, hammer, chisel and slateboard to do the view's from.
I recomend the Crab Tools industrial set........

The comments by the Watford fans sound like some on this forum last year about Souza !! Hopefully the outcome will be the same.

Both teams are struggling as well.
If you asked us about Sander and Vini when we were flying high they'd be very different to when we were getting hammered every week. I always remember Choudhury running around like a man possessed. Winning everything. We'll see, but I've found a video this morning excacly what Wilder sees in him

I think he’ll be a bit of a cult hero by the time May comes around

I think we should give the lad a chance before passing judgement . I watched Man city the other night and their new right back looked horrendos ,with in 10 mins of the kick off he dropped two big clangers .He give the opposition a goal then gave them another brilliant chance with another clanger and then got booked all in the first 10 mins . I wonder how much he cost ? Probable more than Wilder has spent in the whole window . He would not have got in a pub team he was dire . So if Pep can drop a bollock when signing players I should imagine other managers are just as libel to do the same .

Well he sounds crap.

We're so low on numbers in midfield, that anyone will do at the moment, but those are not the kind of comments that make me feel he'll help us get promoted over the course of the next four months.

Happy that this is just a loan now

When i've seen him he's looked dangerous, not a player that'll kill you etc, just decent ball winner and reliable player.. they shit all over him in those views..

Always got to take View From with a pinch of salt, and remember that players will thrive or flail depending on the scenario.

We’ve had players come to us with pedigree and been bobbins and vice versa.

Good fit or Right place, right time generally trumps ability.

Cheers Roy.

The Crab Ladder is highly recommended by Blade56

Slightly confusing feedback on Crabazon though. It just said “aaaarrrrggghhh”

Would Hull have thumped as easily last Friday, with Hamza playing? Probably not, so it's a necessary signing.

It’s amazing how polarised some views can be when they watch the same player.

He both can’t pass and has a good pass on him.

Reminds me when I first tried milo in Asia. I was told by one person that it gives you energy and by another that it helps you sleep!

Just for a bit of balance, the Leicester fans on this X thread seem to be much warmer towards him in the main.

We shouldn’t be bringing in ‘bench fillers’ at this crucial time of the season. A starter for the first 11 would be nice, given our lack of a creative midfielder (when Hamer isn’t playing) and the long injury list we currently have.

Our midfield isn't a problem area though when people are fit/available.
With Souza , Davies and Hamer coming back from injury/suspension the only issue was not having any cover for Souza should he get injured again.

We clearly didn't have cover, and we've struggled as a result. I think it's much needed in case Souza is out again for any reason.

Some of the comments are very positive!

"Why you loaning our best ever RB but play Justin still"

"I will miss him in the team"

"Good luck at Sheffield Hamza, your a true Fox and I’ve got nothing but love for you mate! "

"Disappointed. I think he does ok for us when he gets game time."

"Don't know why we're getting rid of him."

"when did we become a sheffield united feeder club what are you doing"

"Thanks a lot you absolute bellends give all your players to sheff united why don’t you"

"It should have been Patson"

I agree, we’d plenty of midfield options at the start of the season, up front was our main concern. We should be ok there now and the same goes for up front now. The area where we’re glaringly light iCB, even with a replacement for Souttar in, we’d still be only an injury away from JLT or Gilchrist playing there. Souttar was so commanding in the air it seemed he could compensate for others who weren’t so dominant. We’ll be lucky to find somebody as good in this window, and if it’s ever down to JLT or Gilchrist playing CB, we’ll need to start knocking a few more goals in.

The last time we've had such a poor view from... was a certain goalkeeper by the name of Grbic
And we paid a fee for him and got stuck with a contract 🤬

This isn't quite the risk - it's a "try before you decide".

And he might be ok if we are stuck in the Championship (but not on those wages - so he'll just stay at Leicester and run his extortionate contract down coz no way he's taking less than half his present wage unless they go down and he's got a relegation clause).

And if we go up , then it will be a question of whether he looks good enough for the PL , versus our budget.

This shows the huge gamble we've taken with Cannon on a long contract.
Can he be developed into a proper PL striker ? But gambling is what the game's about these days - you have to speculate to accumulate if your survival depends on player-trading.

It's a shame our new owners arrived too late to make the call on strikers like Ollie Watkins & Ivan Toney when they were going "cheap".

Anyway , loans with an option for BBD & Hamza is very good business imo.

Now we need to find a starting eleven CB on loan , if that's even possible.
If not , I hope they've still got enough left for another decent fee.

Irrespective of whether we go up , we do need a CB right now.

Last night I happened to be listening to YorkBlade talking with a Leicester fan about Cannon, and they touched upon signing Choudhury (this was before the Hull game):

Brilliant.
