I think we definitely need to sign him if we go up . The amount of times our midfield went missing last season was frightening and just allowed teams to basically attack at will . Hopefully having a player like this would stop some of that . Being realistic we are not going to play teams off the park , we don’t do that now , but it will hopefully make us harder to beat .
As ever UTB !

God no another underwhelming typical United style signing

Leicester rag suggesting he's staying at Leicester. But also states (as this thread title) that there's an option to buy. So i'd say United hold the cards, not Choudhury?!?!

We have an option, but the wages are apparently unaffordable whilst we're in the Championship.
As with BBD, I think the options were only ever realistic if we went up.

Shame, as I'd have really liked to have had Choudhury back. Good player.

up to the player then isnt it if he wants to come back here probably same situation with tommy doyle they will have to accept a drop in salary i think they could manage on only say 20k a week 😉

Presume that’s confirmation he’s defo back at Leicester and we’re not exercising the option on him. Want 100% sure on Hamza when he first arrived but ended the season as my favourite from this season.

Would be an excellent signing, wages permitting,I'm and Souttar, just as long as we don't go for Thomas, Westergaard and the awful Faes😩

And there in a nutshell is the problem with the Premier league, totally overpaying decent and average players.

Why cant we just loan him again ? We did with Henderson. Depends what Leicester and the player wants to do but its an option.

Sadly I can’t see us going for Souttar. I’m fairly sure he’s out until January then it depends how well he recovers

One reason I'd be against signing Souttar and Choudhury on permanent deals is that we'd be giving Leicester a large chunk of money for unwanted players which will help them sign more players. You don't help your rivals.

Does it matter if they don't want them? We do.

Yep - We sold Bogle to a rival and used the money wisely nearly

Let him go back and stay there. They are already staring down the barrel of a big points deduction. The FFP rules are on a rolling 3 basis I believe so they could get another one next season too if they can't shift some high earners

If we had the available funds he’d be a good signing for the Championship, I wouldn’t push the boat out for a utility CM/RB though. He also wouldn’t be good enough if we got promoted.

As excellent as he was towards the end of the season, I think I'd rather have a more attacking full back as a team aspiring for promotion. The only exception is if Burrows has freedom down the left to go forward a lot more frequently, but it would leave us a bit one dimensional.
